I walk to the school the next day and sit down in seminar. I pull out notebook paper and a pencil, and I start writing a letter. I didn't even know I was gonna write it to him.
Dear Aidan,
I really like you.
I erase it and start over.
Dear Aidan,
Thank you for not running me over yesterday! I was having a bad day and I wasn't sure what to say. I
The bell rings, I crumple up the paper and throw it in the trash as I walk out the door.

I sit down at our lunch table by Chloe and Liv. I start picking at my salad.
"Hey, are you okay?" Livy questions.
"Yeah. I'm fine," I reply honestly.
"What's the problem?" Chloe asks.
"Is it Aidan?" Olivia giggles.
"Yeah,"I mumble.
"Mmhmmm!" They say at the same time, wiggling their eyebrows. "Get some!"
"You guys are nasty! No way!" I say turning red.
"Bet playing trumpet isn't the only thing he's good at!"Olivia taunts.
"You know what the say. Big hands, big-" Chloe says and I cut her off.
"Shut up!" I yell.
The bell rings and I reluctantly go to band.
I sit down by Aidan and I don't say a single word. I sit and play my music with only a few mistakes. After one of our pieces, Aidan speaks up.
"Are you okay? You seem upset," he asks concerned.
"Yeah, I'm okay. No big deal. Just tired," I reply kinda coldly.
"Oh. Okay then. Are you sure? You wanna talk about it?"
"No! I mean, no thanks."
"Okay."
We continue to play our music. Aidan keeps getting lost so I look over at him during a rest and see him looking at me. He looks away immediately. Now it's my turn to get lost. I forget to tap my foot. Then I forget to play my part. Needless to say, our band director made us start over.

"What happened?" Aidan asks as Livy walks over to us.
"Hi," she says quietly with a small, awkward wave.
"Hi," he replies.
"I don't know I just got side tracked. I didn't tap my foot and I forgot my entrance," I tell him.
"I was just wondering. You always play so well! I was a little surprised!"
I start laughing. "Well? You think I play well?"
"You do!" Aidan and Liv say at the same time. They glance over at each other. They didn't seem very friendly toward each other.
"Whatever."
"Aidan!" Paige's shrill girly voice calls.
"Uh oh! You're being paged!" Livy says.
"I see what ya did there!" He says with a sigh. "What do you want?"
"Come here!" She squeaks.
He sighs again. "Bye guys."
"Bye!"
