Chapter 2

“Please turn my frown,

Upside down.

Turn this paper,

Into brown.”

Then he pointed to the piece of paper. Instantly: POOF! It turned brown.

Austin started jumping with joy screaming out “I did it! I DID IT!”

My parent’s mouths were dropped open, but looked astonished. I just stood there with my arms crossed nodding my head.

“Perfect, Austin. Just splendid.” My farther said.

“This is absolutely wonderful!” My mother cheered.

“I’m so excited! I cannot wait to tell all of my friends.” He said.

“Wait just a minute.” I said. I put my hand on his shoulder to make him stop bouncing up and down. “You can’t tell anyone.”

“Huh?” He said while looking at me, then he drove his attention toward our parents. “I don’t understand. How come I can’t tell anybody?”

I saw my mothers mouth open, but I answered first. “Because we have been living in secreat for years. Do you want people to be scared of you? Even your friends?”

“No,” He said in a low voice.

“As an addition: We’re a new kind of vampire. If word gets out about us? People would be on our case. They would take us for testing and everything like that. Do you really want that?”

“No.”

“Then I’m sorry but no one can know about us.”

“Dose Isabelle know? Jacob?” He asked.

I became interested into my shoes. “No,” I finally said. “And I’m not happy about it either.”

I picked my head up. “Dose Grandma know?” He asked.

He was referring to our only grandmother alive. My mothers, mother. “Of course! She’s a vampire herself.”

“I mean, dose she know about the witch part.”

For some reason, I didn’t know the answer to that question. I glanced at our parents who have been mystery quite. My mother was thumb twirling with her head down. “No.” She answered. “She doesn’t know about you two having gifts. She doesn’t know about you guys being witched, heck, she doesn’t even know about what your farther is should be.”

That last one wasn’t so shocking. Witches and warlocks have lost thair powers over the generations. Not just my farther family, but everyone. We are pretty much the last of the witched left with powers. But the reason why I was so surprised was because the fact that she never told her own mother.

Questions were spinning around inside my head, and I had to know the answers.

“How come she doesn’t know about dad? About us?”

“Your to young to understand.” She said.

“I tired of that answer! I’m 16 years old. I'm way smarter than what people believe. Don’t you dare say ‘I’m too young’ or ‘stupid' to understand.”

“Don’t you dare speak to your mother in that tone!” My farther said.

“But still, no one gives me an answer.”

“That’s it!” My farther said while standing up from the table. “You go upstairs to your bedroom, NOW!

I did as told. I marched my way upstairs to my room and slammed the door.

Ahh!” I screamed. I walked over to my stand again. My face was red with anger. “It’s my grandmother. Shouldn’t she know about my talents and gifts?”

I walked over to the computer. I sat down and pulled up my messanger account. I felt so angry. It felt like I needed a punching bag just to blow off some steam. Then I heard a “pop” noise from the computer.

Hey!

It was Jacob. Might as well talk to him to get dinner off of my mind.

We have only been together the past two months or so. It was all Isabelle’s idea. We were at the dance as friends then Isabelle got me to slow dance with him, then, something just clicked. We have been going out ever since. We have been watching movies (with Isabelle and Jordan of course) and hanging around town.

Hi…

I replied.

What’s wrong? You normally reply right away, and with “Hey! =D”. Was it dinner?

To think we have only been going out for a few months and he knows me so well.

Yeah, it was dinner. Could we not talk about it? I’ll be over it by tomorrow. What did you do after school?

Nothing really. Just went home. Been talking to Jordan.

Okay. Are you going to school tomorrow? Last day of school is Wednesday. IN 2 DAYS!!!

Yeah. Me and Jordan planed on going to my house to watch a movie after school tomorrow. You and Isabelle are coming, right?

Yeah I’ll tell her tomorrow. What movie?

Twilight.

Okay, I’ll be there.

Got to go.

Bye!

Bye!

Then I signed off.

Perfect.

A vampire movie to get my mind off of vampires.

Just wonderful.
