Althea's POV:

I woke up and saw Hayes. He was talking. But I didn't know who he was talking to. His head was faced down looking towards the floor. He kept mumbling Things like please wake up. "Hayes?" I muttered. This whole time I didn't know what had happen, but my body felt so new compared to before. Like I could do anything. I felt like I could probably jump off a cliff and still live. Not like I was going to try.

"Althea?" Hayes's voice said as it sprung from excitement, his eyes were bloodshot red and his face was covered with exhaustion. It looked like he hadn't slept at all.
"Althea?!" He said again, standing up from his seat.
"Hayes? What happene-"
And his plump soft lips ran to mine. I didn't know how long it's been, like I've been asleep forever. But his kiss sent a shock through my entire body. Waking up every blood cell with his gentle kiss. He pulled away and gave out a toothy wide smile as he stared at me.
"Shit. You Fucking scared me. You know that right?" Hayes playfully said as he let out a giggle. But his eyes were slightly watering and at any moment it looked like he was ready to break.
"Hayes...what happened?" I asked. My whole mind filled with tornadoes of confusion.
"I was just about to tell you something and...well, we got into a little bit of an accident..." Hayes muttered beneath his breath.
My eyes went mild wide.
"Then why am I-...still alive?"
A uncontrollable smile appeared onto hayes's face again.
"I...really don't know. All I know is...I love you."
My eyes looked at him in awe. "I love you too hayes."

A lady came into the room. Along with Dr Rowell. Their face staring at me like they were seeing a ghost.
"Althea?" Dr Rowell asked, as if she was unaware of who I was. And then she ran up to me by the bed and yelled my name again. "Althea!"
"Hi Dr Rowell"
"Oh my, dear, I'm so glad you're okay!"
"Was it bad?"
"Was what bad sweetie?"
"The crash. Was the crash bad?" I asked. Hayes, Dr Rowell and the lady who was named hazel exchanged looks.
"You, Hayes and the baby were not in any serious Injury...although, the driver of the other car wasn't as lucky as all of you were..." Dr Rowell said in a soft and quiet voice. Her soft voice was overrun by the sound of the vents of the hospital making a slight sputtering and squeaky sound.
"So you're saying-?"
"Yes dear. The man passed away."
"Oh...I'm sorry." I said and suddenly my stomach felt icky. I hated hearing that I was alive, and that someone else suffered. It just didn't seem fair.
"Hayes said you both knew him." Dr Rowell added. I looked at Hayes and he was staring towards the ground again. I gave him a look even though he didn't see it.
"We did...?"
"Daniel Riley is his name. Sound familiar?"

Daniel Riley? I didn't know anyone with a name like that.

"No. I really don't-"
"It's dj." Hayes said in a serious tone. His back slouching in the chair near me. And suddenly I felt a twisting ache in my chest and stomach.
"I...he's gone?"
"Yes dear, I'm sorry that he had to leave so soon."
I didn't speak for a moment. I looked away around the room trying to get my eyes use to the bright lighting again. And let the thought of dj dying chew on my insides.
"Thank you for telling Hayes and I." I said silently.
"Anytime. It's almost 3 am. You two should probably get some rest. I'll check on you tomorrow Althea. Have a good sleep." Dr Rowell said as she started leaving the room.
"Wait." I said cutting her off of taking another step towards the door.
"Yes?"
"Is the baby okay?" I asked as I placed my hand on my stomach and felt light movements.
"Yes. The baby is fine," I smiled at Hayes and Dr Rowell "it looks as if you're due for delivery in a few weeks or so. So be ready, now goodnight." Dr Rowell said as she finally left the room and hazel followed. Silence ate away of the tension between Hayes and I.

"You never told me what you were going to say before." My voice slightly getting stronger and heavier.
"I'm sorry. Can we please just talk about this some other-?"
"Hayes." I said. If I was standing I would slam my foot down. Anxiety was killing me and I couldn't last another minute without knowing what he was hiding.
Hayes slouched back farther into his chair, looked away from me and let out a deep sigh.
