CHAPTER THREE
"Who the Hel- Jesus Cash..." Me waking up screaming to see Dave place a hand over his heart catching his breath"You need to leave a note on the door, remember?" He asks a little annoyed setting the bat down.
"I came in at two in the morning or, well... I don't know some time around there. I didn't exactly have writing a note and taping it to the door on my mind." I reply getting out of bed walking to the door giving Dave a hug.
"Dave, I told you that Cashmere was here..." Poppy glares at him for scaring me, "Good morning sweet heart," She kisses my cheek engulfing me in a hug, but careful to avoid the baby bump, "How's work been? Oh and is your mom feeling better? what about Cameron?" She babbles on a hand supporting her back as she wobbles over to the kitchen stove fixing up some eggs for us.
I giggle at how much she seems like a mother who hasn't seen her kid in years, "Work's been good, I had some free time to re-paint my bike. Mom's doing okay, and Cameron graduates in a month!" I answer all questions in one breath, dramatically gasping for air at the end.
"Oh that's right! I knew I was forgetting something on the calender... Eggs and bacon deary? Now babe you need to come home early and help me set up Opal's room." Poppy tells him. Wait we have a technician screening today...
"Dammit, I can't today dear. I have to be there for the technician checkup today, but..." Dave looks over a me smirking, "Cashmere can help you after she renews her car, and motorcycle license." I nod then my eyes go wide.
"Wait what?!" I start choking on bacon, "No one ever said I had to take my car driver's test. I don't even have a driver's license!" I scream freaking out.
"Oh don't worry deary I'm sure you'll do fine." Poppy says reassuring me. I give a weak smile, before nervously gnawing on my piece of bacon...
* * * * * * * * * *
I sat in the driver's seat of the student test driving car with Poppy and un-born Opal in the backseat, waiting for my teacher tester person to take a seat. I jumped when the passenger door opened even though I was expecting it happen.
"Nervous huh?" The lady asked laughing slightly.
"A bit, I haven't driven a car in three years..." I gulp giving the smallest smile in existence and gripping the steering wheel tighter.
"Just relax and you'll do fine... Let's begin."
She tell me to stay in the speed limit and drive straight to the end. I do and stop at the stop sign. I turn when and where she tells me to turn. I don't know how I can drive a car so smoothly since; One I hate them cause there too big, and Two i cant remember ever learning how to drive one. Finishing up Poppy and I wait nervously as the driver instructor wrote comments, checked off boxes, and hesitated before circling the final answer. The answer that would determine if I could drive, and renew my current motorcycle license. The suspense almost killed me when she turned sighing sadly.
"I'm sorry," She started but her straight face cracked into a smile, "Not sorry! You passed!" She beamed.
"Oh My God!" I scream ecstatically! I can't believe I actually passed...
"Congrats sweety!" Poppy leans forward to hug me from behind kissing me on the cheek.
"it'll be awhile for the license to print out but take this paper over to the motorcycle teacher and you can renew your license. Congratulations." The lady smiles and gets out of the car, us following her actions.
"Now you can drive to the store and back home!" Poppy cheers happy that she doesn't have to drive and can just relax in the passenger seat.
"Yeah but now I can renew my license to dive my baby!" I exclaimed joyfully scurrying over to waiting line.
