Chapter 3
There's a few things Alex learned while he was in that empty hospital room:
1. The hospital room was unaffected by whatever happened outside of it.
2. The outside reeked of dry blood and metal
3. Whoever was screaming would never stop, he thinks it's because their being tortured
4. He's had at least 4 panic attacks while staying thereHe tried to gather his remaining courage to go outside and investigate but no matter how hard he tried to step outside he just froze, thinking that all of this was wrong. He huddled in the corner of the room and curled up into a ball, rocking back and forth. He covered his ears. He closed his eyes, he held his breath. All Alex could do was sit there, blocking everything out until he heard a very distant voice call his name.
"...Alex....Alex please...." those were the words the voice told him, he knew exactly whose it was, Ashton's. He couldn't stop the tears from welling up in his eyes. "A-ash..?" He cried out, "where are...you..."
"I'm right here with you," the screaming got louder "I've never left you."
Alex opened his eyes; the screaming stopped, the room got back to normal and a crowd of nurses and doctors were huddled around him. He suddenly felt very weak and collapsed against the wall. Everything was distorted and his vision was spinning, he felt like throwing up. His breathing was heavy. The medical staff took action right away and took him to a separate room. He can't remember anything that happened after that.
Hours later he woke up to see two familiar faces, one of them was Marie who was gently smiling at him, the other one was Mark. He hated Mark, not because he was dating Marie, if anything he was glad they were together, he hated him for the things he used to do to Ashton. He tried to sit up but winced in pain after a certain while, Marie gently pushed him back down. "Don't, you'll strain your heart." "What happened...?" His voice was weak, barely above a whisper, now it was Mark's turn to speak. "They don't know, but they think it was something similar to a heart attack." Alex's eyes started dilating, he sank into the pillow. "Are you even listening...?" "Mark let him rest, he's probably just exhausted." Marie said in a worried tone, she clutched Mark's arm, he wrapped his arms around her and kissed her forehead. She sobbed into his chest. "It's ok, it's ok... They're both strong they'll get out of this one. If they could deal with me than this is nothing to them." Mark tried his best to confort Marie but it was more bittersweet than he anticipated.
Marie was left alone in the room after Mark had to go to the bathroom. Alex slowly closed his eyes. "Alone..." he whispered. "Huh? A-Alex, what're you saying...?" Marie was scared, she wanted both of the boys to be ok but... "...he's not coming back..." Alex's voice got weaker and weaker. She geared up again, she didn't know who was leaving, after all, the pronoun game is a bitch. "Oh god," she held Alex's hand "why did this have to happen?"
All of this only happened a couple months ago. After Alex was discharged, he found out about the note that was left at the crash site. He did as he was instructed and headed there immediately.
