Chapter 16

*Kat's POV*

"You know you could squeeze my arm a little less jackass."

"You watch your mouth."

I rolled my eyes and so did Jeff. I can't go to jail. Adam would be so disappointed in me. Plus I haven't been there in awhile and I heard it's changed. Both of the officers stopped for a second to talk to someone else. I looked around and I saw sirens, a crowd, and some news reporters. Is this really all nessceray? Then my eyes landed on people I didn't want to see. Tony, Sandy, and Adam. Sandy was in tears. Jeff was comforting her. Adam had tears streaming down his face.

I can't go to jail.

I looked at Jeff and I whisperd,

"Jeff I think I know what we have to do."

He knew just what I was talking about.

"On 3. 1,2..."

I looked at Adam and mouthed,

I'm sorry.

"3"

He both fought our way out of the cops hands. Jeff and I flipped them both over (they were light as a fucking feather) and ran. Just ran away. With our hands behind our backs. Its kind of hard to do that.

"GET BACK HERE! AFTER THEM!"

Lucky I grabbed the keys to the cuffs. I told you i'm sneaky. Jeff and I still ran. We didn't know where we going yet. We just wanted to get away from the police. We made it to an alley and hid behide some trash cans. We tried to as quiet as possible because (A) The cops are now in the alley looking for us and (B) That was a hell of a run.

"Did anyone find them?"

"No. There gone. We have to go back to the station and file a missing persons report. Lets go."

We waited until we heard the cars driving away.

"Shit. Kat. There gone."

"Well that went well."

"Oh yeah. You got the keys?"

"Yeah. Hold on."

I dug into my pocket and found them. It was kinda hard to do...I somehow managed to get mine off and then I unlocked Jeff's.

"Thanks. We should probably keep these. We might need them."

"True. So what now?"

He sighed and ran a hand through his hair.

Jeff: We go into hiding.

*A month later*

So its been a whole month since we have been in hiding. But to be honset, this is all stupid. The police only found out the we robbed one place. Right?

"Um Kat you might want to see this."

Oh we are currently hiding out in a very small town in New Jersey. When we go out we just wear hats and sunglasses. Its really a nice apartment. Its like mine but bigger. So I walked into the living room where Jeff was and saw the news.

"Investagiers say that the 2 missing criminals, Jeff Day and Kat Davis where last seen at a gas station in New York and what was thought to be just a little case turned out to be and even bigger one. The 2 have not just robbed one home. They have robbed over 20 stores, 8 homes, 3 local banks and have been selling illegal drugs for the past 3 years. (Hey! Jeff sells the drugs not me!) So in case you want to try and find them, Jeff Day is a 17 year old white male with black hair and has a tattoo of a skull on his arm. And is so about 5'6 and has green eyes. Kat Davis is a 17 year old white female with brown, has brown eyes and she is about 5'3. She also has a tattoo of the Harry Potter symbol on her finger. Now if you see one of them call 911 right away."

Jeff shut off the tv and ran a hand through his hair. Maybe this was legit. Oh yeah I had to spend my 17th birthday in this apartment with Jeff and my hair lost its color. I miss Adam. and Sandy and Tony. We can't use our phones because they might get traced and we could be found.

"Um Jeff? Is there anyway I could call Adam?"

"Kat you know we can't use our phones."

"I know but maybe we could use a blocked number or something?"

"I don't know. I'm going to take a nap."

"I'm going to go out."

"Please be safe."

"Always. (Hehe see what I did there? Harry Potter? Hehehe.)"

Jeff kissed my forehead and I kissed his cheek. I grabbed my hat and sunglasses and headed to the nearest payphone. Lucky I remembered Adam's number. I waited 2 rings and he picked up.

"Who is this?"

His voice sounds groggy and messed up. But I can tell he have been crying a lot. I sucked in a deep breathe.

"Its me. Kat."

There's was a long pause the he finally spoke.

"Is it really you?"

"Yes its me. Look Adam I don't have a lot of time so i'm only going to say this once. I might be gone for a while. The situation got worse and now there are police like crazy. But i'm doing alright and so is Jeff. Were taking care of each other. I miss you like crazy and I love you so much ok? Don't you forget it. Be strong for me ok? I will be back soon. I love you forever and always.

"I freaking love you Kat. So so so so fucking much. This better be over soon so you can be back to me. Please be safe?"

"I promise."

I started to hear some sirens and then I saw some police asking people questions.

"Kat I hear sirens. Are you ok?"

"Shit I have to go love you bye."

I didn't hear what he said because I hung and ran back to the apratment.

I really hope all this will be over soon.
