This is from my book of lyrics that I'll never use. The next line: You're the one that can never choose; between the faint smile on your lips. All you do is kiss me for kicks.
My songs, or unfinished lyrics are mostly poems thag have only gone a sentence or two far.
I'm currently listening to Iron Maiden's most 80s like album, Somewhere In Time, which is fabulous. All I can say is guitar synth and it's a lot lighter from of the other stuff. The album before was about Egypt and war and the album after was about a seventh son of the seventh son, who God an the Devil are playing games with so...this album's lighter indeed.
I guess one of my favourite things about Iron Maiden is all their albums are different, but it has a very original sound that nobody can replicate.
You can actually hear the fucking bass. Steve Harris, the bassist, has a special way of playing. Playing two eight notes, one after another, using three fingers or triplets. Some call it rhythm bass, but he does do some cool pickups.
The guitars are fabulous and each guitarist is different. They're all lead. No one's strictly rhythm, either. There's three, now, by the way.
The drums are not too loud, but definitely not quiet either. Try thinking of John Bonham's and Ringo Starr's playing but mixed. It's a bit like that. Nicko, still at age 65, is still an octopus, whilst playing. He's awesome. He has the funniest personality and he's a great person.
The vocalists are amazing. There's been three, but I only like two of them. Paul Di'Anno (1979-1981) and Bruce Dickinson (1982-1993/1998-) are phenomenal. Paul's a bit punkier aspect to the music, which there's nothing wrong with that, or a rougher, slower aspect to the music. Bruce is more fluent, higher notes with a few Gillan screechs in between for the first 3 albums he was on.
The themes are also cool. Steve Harris, who's the main lyricist of the band write about books (To Tame A Land, it's about Dune), history (Alexander the Great), war (Aces High), movies, poetry (the song Rime of the Ancient Mariner and 'the Trooper' is about the Charge of the Light Brigade). Bruce tends to form towards the mystical, mythology or religious lyrics, mostly pertaining to magic, God (Moonchild, Flight of Icarus, Revelations) or about issues in life. Adrian Smith, one of the guitarist, who writes like a 1970s hard rocker, with songs like Wasted Years and Stranger In A Strange Land.
Anywho, enough about Iron Maiden. As you can see I really love them. I don't know if anybody's going to listen to them now or what. *shrugs*
After I listen to Tarkus, I'm going to write and possibly do a tag for anyone who wants to do it with me. I'll do a few jumpers, with the explainaton on how to do them. Peace, love and lots of fluffy hugs. 💚Feeling groovy Geez💜
