(4 months later) (Liza's POV)

Ari doesn't understand. We couldn't expect her to. But we must try to explain. She sits on my lap, David behind me, head on my shoulder looking down at Aria. I'm sitting in his lap.

"Ari, do you have any questions?" I ask her, tears threatening to fall.

"Yes."

"Why did the baby have to die?"

I bit my lip. Thinking of how to respond, but David answered for me.
"The baby wanted us to adopt a baby so it couldn't get hurt or be sad in the world." All I could do was listen.
"Would it have been hurt here?"
"It would've been sick sweetie." Ari gives me a hug, trying to give comfort. I hug her back and David surrounds us with his arms. "Come on. Let's go take a nap." David says to Ari, taking her away. I grab a white pillow and pull it close to me, my arms squeezing it.

We lost the child.

(Davids POV)

It's been a week. I've never seen my baby this sad. On top of that, Ari stopped talking. Not just to the mother she didn't see because that woman was morning and grieving but because she was upset as well. The sibling she could've had wasn't going to come into this world. On the way to school one day I got her to crack.
"Do you want to get mommy some flowers?" I look back after hearing no reply, her face is red, and she is looking out the window. I pull over and get out.

"Ari? Come here baby." I say opening her door and pulling her close to me. I heard a small sob and hugged her tighter.

"Why is she so sad?!" She whimpers.

"She's... upset because she really was excited to have another baby."

"But she has me." Aria says, confused and wiping her eyes. "I thought she loves me."

"Baby she does." I assure her, pulling her back into a hug and stroking her hair. Her tears lessened until all that was left were soft sniffles. I put her back in my seat then pulled out my phone.

"Hello? Yes hi this is David Dobrik. I am calling to say Aria Dobrik will not be in class today. There has been a death in the family."

I think they r going to adopt.
I'm going to end this book soon. And make a sequel about their teenage years.
