Chapter Three

"Do you have to go alone?" Eve asked him.

"Why did you think I was going alone? I'm going to need all of your guys' help on this next mission!" Flynn seemed genuinely surprised.

"We should go tell them," Eve said.

"Yeah, I gue- THEY TOLD ME THE ANSWER!!" Flynn shouted, running around the room like a madman trying to find something.

"What?" Eve asked.

Flynn stopped to look at his guardian. "I encountered a... thing on my mission, after I nearly died from an attack-"

"This is why you need me! You four can hardly keep yourselves out of these situations!" Eve said.

"Thanks for the concerns, Love, and I agree. You see, I was attacked by some of the Serpent Brotherhood. It was just a little gang, nothin to worry about. Someone had approached me and told me that they would come back, and I needed to bet here with you and the others when they did she said that the key to stopping them is in a place my heart holds close or something like that," Flynn said, running to Eve and picking her up and spinning her around before kissing her, obviously happy at finding the answer. They broke away and Flynn put her back on the floor, running out of the room with Baird close behind.

"Flynn, are you going on another mission?" Cassie asked.

"Yes! You four are coming with me though!" Flynn seemed excited for a reason that none of the LITs could place. Flynn began dancing around the room, making Eve dance with him. Poor her.

"Excited much?" Stone asked.

"He's been gone a month with no one to let out his randomness and craziness to, as he also figured out a riddle or something, so yeah, he's going to be excited." Eve defended.

"Hey Eve, can we talk about... girl things for a minute?" Cassie asked.

"Sure, I guess?" Eve said. Cassandra pulled her arm and took her out of earshot of the over-enthusiastic librarian, the pizza eating LIT, and the rather bored and unimpressed LIT.

"What i-"

"How long?" Cassandra asked excitedly.

"How long what?" Eve asked, clearly unknowing.

"How long have you and Flynn...?"

"Oh... that... wait, you saw us?"

"Yes! Just answer the question!"

"Well, we didn't officially... you know, become a couple until about a month before he left for that mission, although we first kissed the day that he left us the very first time, when he went to go find the library, and then when he came back, he confirmed he felt the same-"

"Wait, you kissed him first?"

"Yes! And then ever since then... it's kind of been where we're together but not. He officially asked about a month or two before he went on that mission."

"That must have been hard," Cassandra commented, happy for her friends. They walked back to the boys to find that the librarian had calmed down a little, and then Eve cleared her throat.

"Tomorrow we are going on a mission," she said.
