Evelyn's POV

It's today. The day where i'm going to have lunch with the boys.

I looked myself at the mirror after showering. Dark hair. Pale skin. Hazel eyes. Thick eyebrows. There's nothing so special about me, eh?

I wrapped myself in towel and dried my long wavy hair when my brother, Aaron, suddenly opened the door. His soft brown eyes examined my room and finally landed on me. He was standing at the doorway with keys in his hands. "What are you doing here?" I asked in an unexpected rude tone.

"Woah, slow down sis. No need to be so rude." He was grinning like he always does. Looking at him feels like looking at a mirror despite how similar we look. We have the exact same features except he got Mom's soft brown eyes and i got Dad's hazel eyes.

"Sorry. It came off wrong." i sighed. "Well, what are you doing here anyway?"

"Well, i was just stopping by to tell you i'm using the car, now and until the clock strikes midnight."

Woah. "What? But i'm going to use it today." When i see nothing in his expression, i added, "It's important."

"Mine's much more important."

"Oh really? And what is it about?"

He hesitates for a sec. "Meeting friends."

I frown and raises my eyebrows. "Oh, no more cigarettes and alcohols?"

He narrowed his eyes in a defensive glare. "I am clearly out of that. And it's none of your business." He began to close the door. "So, bye little sister."

"Wait—" And the door's closed. Once Aaron decide something, nothing will change his mind. It's pointless if i tried to stop him because he won't listen. He only cares about himself that is.

Mom and Dad are gone for a week, leaving me with Aaron all alone.

Now how am i going to go to that date?

Emma's POV

Woke up to the sound of your own phone ringtone has never been nice. But when it's your bestfriend-since-9 calling, eventually you have got to pick it up.

"Yees?" I answered, half conscious.

"Are you still sleeping Em?" Eve's voice in my ears.

I yawn and get myself to sit up. "Not anymore."

"Oh sorry." She paused. "Em, can you drive me to that date?"

"Uhh..why? i thought you have your own car and Aaron with you?"

"Yeah he's using it this whole day and it's pointless if i argue." i could hear her mumbling something else like 'jerk'. Hah the problems of having a jobless brother.

"Ah brothers."

"Yes..so can you?"

Some part of me said no, not liking Eve having lunch with him. But as a bestfriend how can i say no..? But just when i was about to answered her, my mom came in with a not-pleasing face. "Wait a minute." I said to Eve in a hushed voice and hide the phone under a pillow. "What's wrong ma?"

"I am not pleased with you Emma."

"I can see that..." Mom shot me a death glare which i regret saying that. "Why's that?"

"The school has contacted me that you have been skipping class, is that true?"

Oh no. "I think they mistaken me for another student?"
