*FLASH BACK*
NATASHA POV:
I woke up on monday morning to a
beeping sound coming from outside my door.
from the tv.
What was going on?
Little did i know something big.
I walked out of my room to see my mom and dad watching the tv in the living room intensely.
"Hey whats going-"
I was cut short by the words 'HURICANE ALERT' flash across the screen.
In Miami hurricanes were always threats but rarely ever happened.
"Mom? Dad?"
If they were worried, it was something to consider being scared about.
"Are we going to evacuate?"
"No hunny, were going to stay till it becomes a level 3. Its at a level 2 right now."
"Dad, level 2 is still pretty serious."
"Dont worry about it."
For the next 2 days i sat around in our house reading books and attempting to do some school work i would have to do when i went back.
I had no idea when that would be, but i hoped soon.
Sitting in here waiting out the storm was killing me.
I would rather leave.
The thunder shook the house.
The rain sounded like gun shots, a sound i would learn to get used to.
The sun never shown, hidden away by the madness.
Causing everyone else to go mad themselves.
We were locked in there for 6 days since i woke up to that warning.
It was the 6th day.
My dad still insisted we stayed.
My mom was about to flip her lid.
Right then i was sitting in front of a candle watching the flame panic to fill the room with light.
The storm took out the electrics.
"-thats it Henry! I've had it, we are not staying here its too dangerous to stay."
"Valentina, you don't understand! Its more dangerous to leave then to stay!"
"If we leave now, we can make it to Virginia in 2 days safely."
"no Valentina it's not just the storm! you don't understand! its not safe outside of this house!"
"I don't give a fuck Henry! I'm taking Nat and were leaving."
I was still just staring at the flame, letting her words sink in from the kitchen.
I slowly got up and started packing all of my belongings.
My mom and dad were still arguing so i packed my moms things too.
And hour later and they were still bickering.
I put on a rain jacket and loaded the car, my body swayed back and forth from the force of the wind.
I walked back inside and the yelling had stopped.
Now my mother stood in shock.
Her face slowly starting to turn red with anger.
What had he said to her?
"Cmon mom its time to go."
She turned to me and fear was evident upon her features.
She hesitantly started walking.
"Valentina, they told me my time is up."
She just pulled me by the arm and walked to the door faster.
"This is the last time you might ever see me alive, don't you care?"
"This is your own fault.
you promised me when Natasha was born that you would quit.
And i find out 17 years later you never did and now your in some shit you cant get out of?
no Henry i don't care, because this means you never loved me or her enough to stop.
You don't deserve us.
Good luck." her thick Russian accent breathed.
Next thing i knew we were in the car leaving the city of Miami behind.
