We bolted out the door.
2 lefts, 5 floors up, 1 right.
My mother followed me in a hurry.
We only had seconds.
The lobby was in sight.
"How did you know?" my mother asked, her voice shaky.
"I remembered the way here when they first brought us in." my voice was hoarse and scratchy.
We reached the desk and i held my clam knife under the secretary's neck.
"Oh oh god." she squealed.
"First your father and now you!"
"Excuse me?" My mother pushed.
"He escaped a few hours ago too."
My father had escaped and hadn't even looked for us, tried to save us, he hadn't even called the cops or anything because they would of been here by now.
He left us here to die.
I looked to my mother and she didn't look as surprised as i did.
"Open those doors." I pressed the knife harder against her neck.
"Okay okay."
With one button she opened them.
"Go mom go get help."
"I am NOT leaving without you!"
"MOM! please! just go. i cant run, i can barely talk. just go get help."
She just shakily nodded and kissed my forehead.
"I love you."
"I love you more."
"I love you most."
And with that she sprinted out the doors, into the pouring rain.
There was a hospital 2 miles away.
She could make it.
She has to.
"Gotcha you little-" Antonio grabbed my arm, and started pulling me to his office again.
"Ah ah watch it tony. Friends don't call other friends names. "
"Friends? god you are irritating."
On our way up the elevator, it was stopped at the 4th floor.
And in walked a man.
"Oh hello sir. i was just about to go take care of this one." He spoke to the man and shook my arm making my whole world spin.
"You better not. this little thing just killed one of our best agents. Santana is dead. Knife throw to the heart. dead on too. where did you learn to throw like that young lady?"
I took in his appearance.
Gray headed balding man, pudgy,
About 6 foot, wearing gray and black suit with a green tie and vest, he had a gold chain around his neck and a expensive looking watch, he was smoking a cigar (or what looked like one anyway) and his brown eyes were glazed over.
"I never learned, reflex i guess."
"Hmm interesting." he puffed a smoke ring in my face.
Causing me to cough and wheeze and hold my throat tighter.
"You'd think your father would teach you how to defend yourself while he was in this business."
The elevator beeped to floor 14 which was his stop.
"Anywho keep this one alive Antonio, her talents aren't worth waisting. and as for you-"
He pointed to me.
"Get that little idea out of your head, that you can escape. Antonio has never lost one." he winked and stepped out onto his floor.
"He likes you." Antonio spoke to me.
His light brown eyes reaching mine in a curious gaze.
He really was beautiful.
"Thats a good thing if you want to live."
He then turned away from me and pulled me out of the elevator once it reached 5.
