Courtney POV: Once Shayne ran out of the room everyone was confused as to why he did that, all except me and Damien. I think it was the same reason he cried earlier I had been guessing it had something to do with Maya. He's been telling me the last couple months that things haven't been good and i didn't like the way Maya had been treating Shayne whenever she would join us on squad night. Shayne's a nice guy, like really nice and it sucks too see him be pushed down by some evil witch. But i never said anything because if it's what he wants then he should do that.
Me and Damien run around the office trying to find out where he went. When we passed the smoffice i heard sobbing. I slowly walk up to the door and slightly knock on the door.
Me: Shayne are you in there?
Damien: please buddy, you're my best friend and i promised you that i always would be there for you if something happens.
"Door unlocks and opens to a jar"
Me and Damien look at each other before opening the door and locking it behind us. Shayne is just sitting on the couch silently crying. Damien and sit down on either side of him and hug him. I could feel how he loosened up his tenseness when we touched him.
Damien: Shayne... what's wrong? I've never seen you like this.
Shayne: it... it's pretty bad. I... i think, no i know something pretty bad.
Me: what do you mean?
Shayne looks at me and digs his face in my shirt again and he mumbles through the shirt just so that barely hear what he said:
Shayne: She cheated on me from the start for a whole year...
Me: who? Maya? Are you sure? Did she tell you?
Shayne: no i looked at her phone and i kinda' put all the pieces together.
Damien: Shayne i think you need some rest, how about you call in sick or just tell Ian your not felling great.
Shayne: but i have nowhere to go... Maya lives with me now and she always works from home.
Me: you could go to my place and stay there. I know Wes gets of early i was supposed to drive him home during my lunch break maybe you could join him and stay at my place?
Shayne: really?
Me: yeah i might stay home too and start packing for the trip next week. I've got nothing better too do all shoots are postponed, remember?
Shayne had stopped crying at this point which made me feel a lot better. Then i heard a knock on the door it was Ian. I was about to open the door for him but he unlocked it himself with his super key and stepped inside. He just pointed at Shayne concerned.
Ian: is he okay? He looked at me.
I just shake my head insinuating it wasn't.
Ian: well i just came in here to tell you that Maya's ticket is already paid... and if anyone ever wants to go home from the trip you can leave anytime you want for free so you know. Oh and here's the packing list. He handed us a quite long list of things to bring and then he left.
I looked at Shayne who had started streaming tears down his face again. I patted his back.
