~Virgil~
As soon as I entered the castle, I was practically tackled to the ground. Patton hugged me so tightly I could barely breathe as he sobbed into my shoulder. He just muttered random words that could barely form a comprehensible sentence.

"Virgil... back... don't... please... stay... sorry..."

My icy heart melted a little at the sight and I patted his head gently. "I'm sorry I left, Patton. I won't do it as long as Roman stays away from me."

Patton looked up at me with the most intense puppy eyes in history. "P-promise?" he stuttered.

"I promise," I nodded. Roman walked past me to speak to Logan while I stood awkwardly cuddling Patton. But I didn't care too much because Patton cuddles are the best.

Roman and Logan left the room, conversing in hushed tones. I stood in silence for a bit before I managed to break from Patton's grasp. "I'm kinda worn out... I'm gonna hit the sack."

"Well, what did that sack ever do to you?" Patton laughed a bit at his bad joke.

"Not your best," I snickered.

"I'll call you for dinner when it's ready, just make sure that sack doesn't hit you back," Patton laughed again.

"Haha," I said sarcastically and descended into the dungeon.

~Roman~
I came into the foyer to see Virgil being atta- cuddled by Patton. Logan made a gesture for me to come over and I obeyed. "We need to talk, Roman," he whispered into my ear.

Logan pulled me into another room and closed the door. "I noticed that Virgil is injured. Would you care to explain?" he began to interrogate me.

"I found him like that. I didn't do anything," I defended myself.

"Just like how you didn't do anything to prompt him to run away?" I was simply left in silence. Logan sighed and continued, "It's a good thing that Patton hasn't noticed it. Have Virgil visit me prior to dinner, since I have to do everything around here."

I nodded and looked down; my battle with the dragon-witch was still fresh in my mind. "I found a dragon-witch, Logan."

The elder boy tensed up at my words. "But that is impossible. There is a minuscule chance that any such creatures still exist."

"It's true. I found Virgil in it's lair, and that's how he got hurt."

Logan pondered my words momentarily before continuing. "This will require more investigation. Will you aid me in this, Roman?"

"I will," I agreed. "We need to keep him safe." I turned to leave, ignoring the image in my mind of Virgil laying helpless and bloody on the floor of a cave.

A/N This long chapter is brought to you by me being bedridden and sick for the past few days with nothing to do but write, read, and rewatch Sanders Sides, RWBY, and Red vs Blue over and over. Being sick is awfuuuuul! Rant over.
