Gunshots could be heard, the five of them bunkered down where they were, Soldiers from the other timeline started swarming the hole, slowly pushing Chell back. It covered the hole with its shapeless form, trying to stop them from tearing through it.

Chell: -grunts- MIRA,EDDY, IF YOU LIKE, YOU COULD CLOSE THE PORTAL NOW.

They struggle to see what caused it to activate, however there wasn't anything that didn't have enough power to do such a tremendous achievement.

Edward: There doesn't seem to be any energy in the generators, How is it even ON?

Mira: Then... It wasn't even the machine that caused this... Somehow... -_-||

Chell: What?!?

/Meanwhile from the other side of the portal/

Carol: This has gone far enough!

Guards stopped her from handling this head-on. While others started arming what appeared to be thermal bombs, which seemed to make Chell nervous, if there's anything that seems to harm Chell, it's either fire or liquid nitrogen type of weapons. A soldier ran back to the barricades, and detonated the explosives. The blast caused a gaping hole in between Chell, and a few ran inside.

When they got inside, they were immediately incinerated by Scorch from where they stood. A few soldiers back in the barricades saw there members burned alive and dying instantly.
Carol couldn't take a few more soldiers to die during the predicament.

Carol: Thats it, I'm going in!

Jeffrey: Carol, don't...

Before Jeffrey could do something, Carol sprinted towards the portal. However, something was causing the portal to close, forcing her to fly towards the hole. She boosted towards it until the last second, she managed to passed through, overshooting it and ascended towards the roof and stopped inches from the roof. Everyone stood dumbfounded, seeing that not only a portal opened to another Time/Dimension and that someone actually passed through.

Amber: ...

Edward: M-marvelous...

Mira: (how did this happened)

Scorch: ...

Chell: -multiple voices- AHHHHH! My torso! -whines-

Carol floated up there in awe, confused to what just happened.

Carol: alright, prepare to pay for what you've done!

She slammed downwards, targeting Scorch first, Scorch moved to the right and smacked her head to the side, causing her to crash into the ground.

Carol: Oww! ;3;

Scorch: Guess you didn't think this through huh.

He grabbed her and tide her to a metal beam. Both Edward and Mira theorized on how this happened, Amber and Chell observed their prisoner,who was tide up in chains, in surprise as Scorch was just staring at the machine. But after half an hour of silence and science talk, Carol broke the silence.

Carol: Where... am I?

Amber: Downtown Brink City, how did you create that portal.

Carol: I didn't, it appeared in the south side of Brink City, around the park and the industrial district. Odd right?

Chell: A little. →_→

Amber: What is powering you?

Carol: Well, a actual heart and a shard of Perfect Energy.

Scorch looked at her direction in surprise. He walked closer to her slowly and stopped inches away from her face.

Scorch: Is it a Pink-ish purple crystal?

Carol: Y-yeah? How do you know?

???: Because that crystal is a lethal no no for him :)

Everyone looked at the direction of the voice to see a figure walking in the rafters. He was lanky, old and wearing some withered robes and a ripped cape; he had a oxygen mask and plastic pipes pertruding from his back.

???: You see, I created that little portal to Caroline's timeline. But I only needed was an opening so I could explore this reality.

Edward: Amazing!

???: But this is not the MOST powerful thing I can do. Just you wait and see. :)
