The Charming Redhead Lady

She fell asleep in the car due to the amount of alcohol she had taken, that when they reached Jenny and Liebee had to drag her to Jenny's room. Her sister watched her sleeping like a baby; which she was anyway.

Ruby woke up due to sunrays hitting her eyes. The clock on the bedside table showed that it was noon. Ruby groaned. She had on a killer headache. As she stood up, she could smell a wonderful smell wafting up Jenny's room from the kitchen. She went to the bathroom and washed her face. She looked a mess, with a tired and haggard face. She dried herself and went down.

As usual, it was her sister working her magic in the kitchen. When she just saw her, without saying a word handed her a glass of tomato juice.
Such a sister, she thought to herself. "Where is Liebee?" Ruby asked. "Had to go to the mall to pick up something." Jenny continued cooking. "Ruby, why don't you reduce your alcohol intake of you are going to be that wasted everyday." Ruby scowled. "It wasn't that much." Jenny rolled her eyes but kept her silence.
Ruby knew what her sister was saying was right, but she didn't want to give her that satisfaction of knowing she was right.

Yeah; typical sibling.

"What happened to you last night Jenny? Why were you like that?" Jenny seemed to freeze for a second on Ruby's question, but was saved from answering with Liebee entering the room. "Hellow girls!! Mmm...something smells good! What is it?" All that Ruby had seen on Jenny's face had vanished. Jenny rolled her eyes at Liebee, before answering, "pasta and meatballs." Ruby turned to Liebee. "And what's the new thing you bought?" Liebee feigned hurt, causing the two girls to laugh. Liebee pouted. "Fine!! I saw a beautiful bag at the mall and I just had to buy it." This caused the two girls to laugh more, and then Liebee joined in the merry.

She had no intention of going to class that day, so after lunch she just trudged to her apartment. She had a spring cleaning to do, and a whole ton of laudry.
Yeah, she hated laudry.

Two hours later, busy and buried in her work, her bell was ringing. "I'm coming!"Ruby hollered when the person behind her door impatiently ringed again twice. She wiped her hands on her apron, and went to open without looking.
She was shocked.
"Hi Ruby." "Derrick...what are you doing here?" She was holding her door, feeling uncomfortable as he was looking her up and down in a very dirty and knowing way. "Can I come in?" Ruby hesistated, but behind her she could see her nosy neighbour looking her side with curiosity. No need to give her some gossip. "Sure." She opened her door wide and let him in. He entered and looked around. "Looks like you are in spring cleaning." "Yeah." A quietness ensured, where Derrick continued looking around. "Looks different in here. Did you redecorate?" "Yeah." He went and picked the wooden bowl she had received from Dauph. "This looks expensive. And unique." "It was a gift from Canada." He raised an eyebrow. "From who?" Ruby was now getting annoyed. "Well I don't see how it is any of your business. And if you are done playing tourist in my place tell me what brought you here." Derrick was shocked with the tone, but recovered quickly and gave her his most charming smile, which did not work on her. "Come on Ruby, do not act as if you do not know me. We dated for sometime. I came to talk about us." Ruby rounded in on him. "Us? What us? There is no us as far as I'm concerned." "Ruby you know I miss you and want you back. Please don't do this to me. I know you love me too." Ruby rolled her eyes. "I don't love you, not a little bit Derrick."
Derrick's face hardened. "Is it because of another guy?" "Yes, I love another guy."
Derrick looked at her, then said,"I'll be damned if I'm going to let you be with another man." Before Ruby could comprehend, he moved to her and roughly pulled her by him. Then he let his lips crash down on her's.

Ruby tried pushing him but he was strong and he was holding both of her hands captive. She couldn't even raise her knee to hit him on the crotch. So she bit him on his lower lip hard enough. "Aaarrghh....b*tch I'm going to teach you a lesson." He raised his hand and struck Ruby once on the cheek. He raised his hand to strike her again but someone took hold of his hand.
"Unhand her or else you won't have your hand in the same way again." It was Dauph's voice, and it caused Ruby to freeze for a moment. Did he see all that had happened?
Derrick was surprised, but turning he got the full effect of Dauph's fist which hit him square in the nose. He let go of Ruby with a groan. Dauph let go of his hand and he slumped toward. Dauph took hold of him again by the scruff of his neck, and raising him, he threw another punch on his face then let him go. Derrick fell down like a sack. "Leave before I destroy that pretty face of yours." Derrick scurried like a chased mouse and left hurriedly.

"Looks like I always find you in a compromised condition and that I have to save you,"Dauph joked, but his facial was anything than jokes. A muscle was ticking in his jaw, and he was clenching and unclenching his hands in fists. It was the first word he had spoken to her since he entered the apartment. Currently they were sitting in Ruby's kitchen, and Ruby was holding a bag of ice in her face that Dauph had wordlesslly fetched from her refrigerator. "Yeah...looks like it,"Ruby answered in a small voice.
She was in shock, she never knew that Derrick could be physical with her. "What happened?" Those two words were enough to cause Ruby to break down with tears. In a flash, Dauph was by her side comforting her as she cried her eyes out.

"Shushh....its okey now...he wont hurt you anymore. I'm right here with you..."he patted her back while whispering soothing words to her.

When she calmed down a little, she told him everything, from Derrick being her long time boyfriend, up to him cheating on her and doing all hurtful things at her. Dauph was getting angrier, but for the sake of Ruby, decided to cool down.
"I can't stay here...I need to be far away from this place...I need to call my sister Jenny..." "No need Ruby. You are going to my place. My car is at the parking lot." Ruby made some resisting noises but Dauph was not hearing it. "Don't bother your sister with it. I can take care of you too you know." Ruby just had to nod. He carried her bridal style up to outside to his car, not hearing her resisting words against carrying her. In the car, he set her on his lap and ordered his driver to leave.
Exhausted, Ruby fell asleep on Dauph's chest moments later. When they arrived, he carried her up to his bedroom and tucked her in. After he set her in he went to sit in his living room. He called his secretary. "Hellow Linny, please do an investigation for me. Dig up all information you can about Derrick Bowin. I need it by tomorrow morning." He hung up. He was so angry at Derrick for raising his hand on a woman, much less his Ruby.

His Ruby.

It sounded so good on his mouth. He will never let anyone lay a finger on her, and once he was finished with Derrick, he won't be able to come a hundred yards near her.

In the small homely coffee shop a beautiful lady was sitting in a booth by the glass window sipping a cappuccino. She looked out of place inside with her large sunny hat and overlarge black sunglasses. Now and then she looked outside then on her wrist at her watch with impatience. A man entered the shop and after a few moments of standing and looking around, he spotted her and walked towards her. "Your late." She said in a flat voice. The man looked at his watch. "I'm just on time." He removed his jacket and sat down. All the time the lady was looking at him with something more like distaste. "Are you Anderson?" "Yes I am. And i believe that I'm talking to Allissa." "Yes that's right." Before she could talk more a waiter came and took the man's order. After he left, the man turned towards the woman. "Tell me why you called." The woman sipped her coffee slowly, studying him before setting down her cup. "I heard that you do a good job. I have a job for you." "And what would it be?" The woman reached at her handbag and removed a large sealed brown envelope. She set it on the table and slid it to him. "There is a person I want you to tail for me. What he does, who he meets, especially the girls. And all after work activities he does. In the envelope there is his name, home and work address. And i want daily reports. Think you can do it?" The man gave her a grin which was not returned. "Sure thing. I'm starting tomorrow."
