Sophia slammed her apartment door before sliding down it, she couldn’t believe that the footballer had brought what happened between her and Gerard into an argument like that.

The blonde sniffed as she tried to calm herself down, she took a few deep breathes before she pushed herself up from the floor and headed for the living room; she collapsed onto the couch as she closed her eyes.

Her Egyptian Mau clambered up onto her lap and purred as he looked at her; the blonde opened her eyes and smiled softly down at him.

She had gotten him as a present from her mother and she adored him especially since he was the only comfort that she had sometimes.

“Why can’t all men be like you?” Sophia asked the cat softly, making Midnight close his eyes and purr as she stroked him.

The cat clambered off the blonde’s lap and walked towards the kitchen before he stopped and looked back at her and meowed.

Sophia smiled before following after him, knowing he probably wanted some fresh food and water; Midnight climbed onto the kitchen counter and watched as Sophia cleared out his bowls and set about feeding him.

“It would be so much easier to date someone like you Midnight,” Sophia said as she set his bowl down in his corner and smiled at the Egyptian Mau who quickly scurried over to the food he had been provided with.

“You don’t ask for much… your sweet, loving… you actually listen to me,” she said before shaking her head amused, while she watched her cat eat.

Midnight looked at her and licked his lips before turning back to eat; Sophia nodded to herself before she started to make herself a light snack.

Cristiano sighed as he opened the front door to his mother, she smiled at him as she carried Junior into the house; her brown eyes glancing around curious about where the blonde was.

“I’ll settle him down in the lounge… could you tell Sophia that he’s had his dinner and only needs a bath before bed?” Dolores said as she walked through her son’s home.

She knew that he still wasn’t happy with how things were happening but she hoped that he soon warmed to the idea that he was engaged.

Cristiano ran a hand through his hair, his brown eyes looked down knowing that there was no way that Sophia would want to speak with him after what had happened.

“What did you do?” Dolores asked as she looked at her son after she had set Junior in his playpen, her brown eyes watched him.

She could sense that something was wrong and she had a feeling that Cristiano might have put his foot into his mouth at some point.

“Sophia and I had a fight… I said some things that I shouldn’t and haven’t seen her since,” Cristiano said as he looked at his mother, who sighed before she collected Junior back in her arms and shook her head knowing that she had to do something if she wanted her plan to work.

“Then you’ll go and apologise… I’ll take Junior back with me tonight,” Dolores said leaving no room for argument before she prepared to back to her home for the night; she glanced at her son knowing that he had a lot of work to do.

Sophia curled up on her couch dressed in her plaid long sleeve boyfriend shirt, she was watching a film that was being shown on television as Midnight curled up on the couch with her when there was a knock at her front door.

The blonde sighed wondering who it could be, she knew that there was no way that it could be Cristiano; she doubted that he would come and see her after their fight.

Sophia made her way over to the door as Midnight climbed off the couch and disappeared towards the bedroom; the blonde sighed as she pulled open to the door, she stared shocked as Cristiano stood before her.

Sophia frowned before crossing her arms, she knew better than to attempt to slam the door in his face; Cristiano rubbed the back of his neck nervously at the look that the blonde gave him.

“Can we talk?” the footballer asked making Sophia raise an eyebrow at him, she didn’t know why he had come to see her but she had a feeling that Dolores had found out and had told him to come and apologise.

Biting her lip, Sophia thought for a moment before she nodded.

“Fine talk,” she said leaning against her front door, Cristiano sighed knowing she wouldn’t forgive him easily.

“I’m sorry… I know bringing him into this wasn’t fair,” he said making Sophia roll her brown eyes.

She’d figured that she’d get a half-baked apology from him again; the footballer watched her sadly wondering what had happened for him to lose his best friend.

“Por favor Soph, I don’t want to fight anymore… I know that this arrangement that are Mães have it won’t be easy but maybe if we actually talked,” Cristiano said making the blonde glare at him; she couldn’t believe that he was trying to blame this on her.

The footballer stared at her wondering what he had said this time, he knew that Sophia had never held a grudge for long but he was surprised at how much she had really changed.

“Don’t you dare try and guilt-trip me, I’ve been here for nearly a year now and the only time you talk to me is when you wanted something,” Sophia hissed making Cristiano fall quiet.

He knew that he had been less than welcoming when she had come back to Madrid from Barcelona but he had his reasons; his brown eyes looked at her sadly as tears started to fill Sophia’s brown eyes.

“When I needed my best friend he wasn’t there Cristiano… how do you think that felt?” the blonde said shaking her head.

She knew that she had been pushed to the side because of who had been dating but she had never expected him to push her away like that.

Cristiano looked at Sophia sadly he knew he had been a jerk, hell he didn’t speak to her for two years after he signed for Real Madrid because she had been dating the Barcelona defender.

“I needed you,” Sophia said as her tears started to fall, Cristiano quickly pulled her to his chest before she started to sob; he hadn’t realized how much Gerard had hurt her until now.

Slowly backing them into Sophia’s apartment, the footballer attempted to calm her down, he couldn’t believe that he hadn’t noticed how much she was hurting and how much she had needed him.

“I’m sorry Sophia,” Cristiano said not knowing what to do; he had never seen her so hurt before and right now he just wanted to hurt Piqué for doing this to her, even if they had broken up a year ago.

The blonde shook her head as she pushed him away from her, she wiped away her tears not believing for a moment that he truly was.

“What do you care? You’re Cristiano Ronaldo,” she said bitterly making Cristiano sigh as he held her tightly to him.

He knew that she had no reason to believe him especially after how he had treated her as of late but he knew that he would do anything for her.

The footballer looked down at Sophia and frowned, he didn’t like how small she seemed and he wanted nothing more than to make things right; she needed him and he was going to be there for her.
