AN: I've changed from Cammie's best friend being Stevie to it being Amy. Hope you guys don't mind and don't get confused.
Cammie POV:
Saturday
I wake up still smiling on my high from last night. I was so shocked by how much effort Shannon put into the night, she's amazing.
I get up and shower and phone Amy to invite her around to hang out... and to spill all the details about last night because I need to tell someone about how great Shannon is!
"She cooked for you? She's a keeper!" Amy squealed "I know, I know! I can't believe I'm dating my crush" "Are you guys official yet?" "Not yet, but I'm hoping she'll ask me out soon" "She better, you can't be one of Shannon's flings!" Amy replies. "What do you mean?" "Cam, don't play dumb. You know that Shannon has a bit of a reputation for having flings and not actual relationships. I just don't want you to get hurt" she says when she sees the sad look on my face "Amy she wouldn't play me like that!" I reply angrily. "Hey I'm just trying to look out for my best friend, if she ever hurt you I'd kill her!" Amy says making me laugh "I'm serious" "Amy you're tiny and a bit of a wimp, I'm sorry but you couldn't hurt a fly. And don't worry Shannon wouldn't do that to me, we've got a lot of history. I know you only know high school Shannon but I've grown up with her, we were best friends our whole lives, she's always had my back and cared for me so trust me when I say she won't hurt me!" "Okay I believe you, but I've barely spoken to her and I don't know her so you can't blame me for being sceptical. And I know you've had boyfriends but this is your first time dating a girl so let me look out for you" "Aw, you love me. But just let me be happy. Trust me once you get to know her you'll see that I'm right! And you will get to know her because I plan on being with her for a long time." Just thinking about having a future with Shannon makes me happy, and it seems to have finally shut Amy up.
Amy and I are hanging out in my room, watching tv when we hear the doorbell ring but we let my dad answer it. A few minutes later there's a knock at my door "Come in Dad" I shout and the door opens but I'm shocked when I see it isn't him "Hi Cammie, your dad let me up, I hope that's okay" Shannon says with a small smile on her face that drops when she sees I'm not alone "Hey Shan, yeah that's cool come on in." "Sorry I don't want to interrupt it's just you left your jumper at my house last night and I didn't want you to be cold" She looks so cute as she awkwardly stands at the door so I get off the bed to get the jumper from her and give her a small peck on the cheek and whisper a "thanks" in her ear which makes her tense up. I look at her confused and she motions towards Amy. "Shannon that's Amy, my best friend and Amy this is Shannon who I went out with last night" I see Shannon blush at what I said as Amy just waves at her. "So I'd invite you to stay and hang out with us but I actually have to go to work now" I say because I lost track of time and don't want to be late to my moms salon "I can give you a lift if you'd like?" Shannon asks me "Thank would be great, thanks. As long as you don't mind?" I smile at her gesture "Of course not Cam. And Amy I can give you a ride too?" Shannon asks making me fall a little more with how sweet she is "Nah it's cool I can walk, her moms salon is in the opposite direction of my house. Thanks for the offer though" "Don't be silly I have nothing else to do today so let me drive you home" "Well okay then, thank you!" Amy replies with a smile, I think she's starting to see that I was right about Shannon.
We're all in Shannon's Car driving to Amy's house and it's really nice that they're both getting along. I'm not paying too much attention to their conversation but they're laughing a lot which is a good sign.
After we drop Amy off I get a text from her
Amy:
A: So maybe you were right
A: she's a sweetheart
A: I approve 👍🏼
C: TOLD YOU! But I saw her first so back off 😂
We arrive at the salon and Shannon parks the car outside "Thanks for the lift, and for returning my jumper. You really didn't need to though, I would have survived without it until I saw you at school on Monday." She just laughs at me "You're welcome but I know you left it on purpose so you had an excuse to come over again, I just thought I'd be kind and save you a trip" "Woah cocky much!" I smirk at her as she laughs at me "I'd love to stay and chat but I really have to go to work" I say a little bit sad I have to let her go "No problem, I'll call you tonight?" "I can't wait" I reply and lean over to give her a kiss "Bye Cammie" "Goodbye Shannon, and thanks again" I say as I leave the car and head into work.
