Shannon POV:
SaturdayIt's the weekend which means I get to sleep in late, but this Saturday was different! I woke up early on a Saturday for the first time ever because I'm so excited about my date with Cammie. I spent the morning doing school work to try to distract myself so the day wouldn't drag too much, thankfully I like maths and I'm good at it so that kept me busy. I then went for a run because I need to stay fit for basketball but also it's how I do my best thinking and I had to think about what to say to Cammie.
After my run I go for a shower and when I'm done I see Cammie sent me a text saying her mom said she could have her break at 6.
I stopped at the shop to get soda and snacks and now I'm on my way to collect the pizzas. I decided to get two so that there'd be one for Cammie's mom, since Sandie is letting her have a longer break so we can spend time together.
When I arrive at the salon I park and walk in carrying the food and the first thing I see is my beautiful girl sat at the reception desk
"Welcome to Salon U, how can I help you today?" Cammie asks without looking up to see it's me
"I'd like a date with the prettiest girl in Texas, please" I reply and she looks up at me with a big grin on her face "Hey Shan, Sorry I didn't realise it was you, we can go through to the back I just need to tell my mom, one second" Cammie replies and walks over to Sandie and whispers something in her ear. "Hi Shannon" "Hi Mrs- Sandie" I reply, blushing at almost using the wrong name "I brought some pizza for you, if you want to come join us when you're finished?" "that's very sweet of you, thank you, I'm nearly finished here and then I'll come through" Sandie replies as Cammie leads me through to the back room.In the back of the salon there's a small staffroom with a sofa and a table and some chairs along with a small kitchen area, Cammie sits on the sofa and motions me to sit next to her. "Thanks for bringing me dinner, this is really sweet" "No problem Cammie"
We eat the pizza and drink soda as Cammie tells me stories about her day at work, I'm trying my best to listen to the stories but I'm nervous about asking my question. I see that Cammie looks a bit cold so decide to use that as my chance to ask her. I take off my letterman jacket and take a deep breath
"Here, have this" I say handing over my jacket "Thanks, I am a bit cold" Cammie replies as she puts on the jacket "It looks good on you, maybe you should keep it" She let's out a chuckle "I couldn't do that, it's yours"
"Well maybe I want you to have it Cam"
"Why? It's your letterman jacket"
"So you know how in those cheesy films we used to watch, people would 'go steady' and then the guy would give the girl his letterman jacket? Well I guess this is my way of asking you to go steady and be my girlfriend?" I say as my heart feels like it's about to burst out of my chest and my palms are sweating like crazy
"I don't know what to say Shan" my heart drops and my face must have shown it because Cammie quickly starts speaking again "I mean yes, sorry Shan I just always dreamt you'd ask me that question but I never actually thought it would happen, especially not in such an adorable way, but yes, of course, I mean how could I ever say no to you!" Cammie rambles away in response as I just lean in and give her a kiss, it's purely lips but there's so much passion in the kiss because we're both so happy! "I really like you Cammie" "I really like you too" She blushes."What will happen at school?" She asks shyly. "What do you mean?" "Well do you want me to wear the jacket to school and tell everyone we're a couple or-" I cut her off to stop her worrying "Cammie we'll do whatever you want! I didn't ask you to be my girlfriend, or give you my jacket to make you come out at school. I did that because I like you and I want you to be my girl and only my girl. I don't care if we tell the whole world or keep this to ourselves as long as you're mine!"
"Well I don't think I'm ready to come out yet" Cammie replies while looking down at her feet.
"Baby that's okay, this can stay between us for now until you want other people to know. But I would like to be able to talk to you more at school, maybe even join you for lunch sometimes?"
"Of course you can! Sorry if you thought you couldn't I guess I'm just so used to sitting with my friends. We can definitely hang at more at school. And then just keep the kissing for when we're not at school"
"I can handle that!" I smirk as I lean in to kiss her. We've finished eating and are cuddled up on the sofa talking when Sandie enters "Aw you guys look cute, but I'm going to have to break you up. Someone needs to sweep the shop" she says while looking at me making Cammie laugh
"Okay a deals a deal! And it's worth it to get to spend time with your daughter" I reply as I pull myself away from Cammie and stand up "where's the brush?"
"Shannon sweetie I was only joking, but the brush is in the closet if you don't mind?"
"I don't mind, happy to help"
"Well in that case why don't Cam and me go home and you can do my inventory for us" she jokes as Cammie laughs
"No Mom, we can't do that to my girlfriend!"
"What? Girlfriend? When did that happen?" Sandie asks looking shocked but she seems happy about it
"Shannon asked me just a few minutes ago, and she gave me her jacket." Cammie replies
"Aww guys, you make a really cute couple! And Cammie that jacket suits you" Sandie says while coming to give me a hug"Why don't you pair go out and celebrate and I'll sort out the salon" Sandie suggests
"No Sandie we made a deal. And I'm happy to help. It just means I get to hang out with my favourite girl and her wonderful mom!"So we spend the rest of the night cleaning and organising the salon while laughing and joking. Oh and me and Cammie kept sharing sneaky kisses when her mom wasn't looking.
Thanks for reading guys, hope you like it! Again I haven't proof read so I hope it's okay. It's late but I want to post a chapter before I fall asleep so hopefully it'll be okay. Please leave any suggestions you have in the comments.
