"Hey."
Brown doe eyes looked up from the food tray to be meet by (e/c) ones. The boy grinned.
"Hey."
The girl sat in front of Jim at the empty cafeteria table, putting her own tray down. The boy was already sat there, but didn't start eating. He just waited for her. He wasn't feeling very hungry anyway.
"So, how has your afternoon been going so far?", she asked.
He shrugged.
"Like usual, I guess. Nothing too interesting."
She nodded.
Both stayed silent for a little while, playing awkwardly with their school cafeteria quality food, but never really eating anything. The two teens were lost in their thoughts until Jim asked (y/n) a question.
"Are you free after school?"
The girl looked back at him, raising her eyebrows. The boy's stomach flipped a bit and he almost regretted asking her so directly.
"Uh-I mean, um...", he stuttered. "I mean, I just wondered that, maybe, you know... We could do something together. But you don't have to, of course. If you don't-"
"I'd love to. Really.", she assured him. "But I have to stay after school a bit, though. I missed class once and I need to take some notes I don't have."
Jim shrugged again.
"Well that's fine,", he said. "Maybe we could meet after?"
The girl's face lit up and a grin appeared on her soft lips.
"Yeah. Yeah, that'd be nice."
He smiled back at her.
"Sounds like a plan, then?", he asked.
Her smile grew wider.
"Definitely."
His smile grew wider too.
"Cool.", he quoted her.

The rest of the day flew very slowly for the two teens. (y/n) was especially happy and relived to leave her catching up class and rushed quickly to her locker. She put her books and pencil case away neatly and grabbed her bag and her coat, then closed the metallic door. While she was putting her lock back in place, she heard footsteps coming behind her. Thinking it was Jim, she turned away, a smile plastered on her face. Her expression quickly changed when she saw who was behind her, though.
"Hey freak."
"What do you bloody want, Carl."
She glared at him. He chuckled.
"Aww, come on, don't be like that. Just wanted to chat for a bit.", he sneered, sarcasm dripping from his words.
"I need to go.", the girl replied, breaking her gaze from the taller boy's.
But he didn't let her go like that. Instead, he roughly grabbed her left shoulder and backed her against the lockers, her bag and coat falling on the ground. He pushed himself closer to her, both their chest touching.
He was way taller than her. Towering over her, his blue eyes looked down at the girl. His blond hair looked damp and the smell of chlorine floated around him.
"You see,", he spoke again. "I just came back from my swimming practice, and I was unfortunately feeling quite lonely. But now that you're here, we can have a little fun together."
