Glasses (unedited)
Y/N's POV

The alarm blares through the Glade, causing me to startle slightly. I'm not new here or anything (in fact I'm already a Keeper), but I've still not gotten used to the alarm going off once a week.

People begin to gather around the box as it flew toward us, rattling rather violently.

The Keepers make their way to the front of the crowd and prepare to meet whoever will be the new Greenie. I glance over at Chuck, the current Greenie, and notice that he seems somewhat excited. He's probably very happy to not be the Greenie anymore.

The box comes to a crashing stop and Newt and Alby lean down to open the box. I step forward and stare down into the box at the boy staring up at us. He sees me almost immediately and keeps his eyes on me. This is how it normally goes so it doesn't bother me.

Then I realize that he's staring at me, but he's squinting slightly as he does so. Does he have a seeing problem? Maybe that's why a pair of glasses came up with the supplies last week.

"Chuck, can you do me a favor and go get that pair of glasses from the Med-jack hut?"

He gives me a determined nod and sprints away.

Gally steps forward and helps Alby pull the Greenie out of the box.

"Nice to meet ya, shank. Welcome to the Glade."

I roll my eyes at the Gally. His rudeness always gets on my nerves, especially when it's aimed towards whoever the Greenie is.

"Hi there, I'm Y/N. You remember your name yet?"

The boy doesn't answer me, and instead glances around for a few seconds before turning and sprinting towards one of the Doors to the Maze.

"We've got a runner!"

I look towards Minho who looks amused. He then looks at Ben who is already looking at him for some sort of instruction. Minho bobs his head to the right, the same direction that the Greenie is currently running in, and then sprints off with Ben right behind him.

The two runners move at a slightly slower pace than they normally do, but they still catch up the Greenie quickly and tackle him so that he can't get any further.

Chuck comes back and hands me the pair of glasses.

"Did he run?"

"Yup."

We walk towards the Greenie and get there just as he's pulling himself off the ground. I hand him the glasses and he stares at them with a confused look on his face.

"As I said earlier, I'm Y/N. What's your name?"
