My mother always told me that her first relationship was with a man who showed her what love was. She told me that even though they eventually drifted apart due to busy schedules, they had kept in touch and to this day, they still catch up with each other every now and then. 

I had always wanted my first relationship to be like hers. A few ups, a few downs, but overall a romantic, meaningful relationship. After all, there was a special kind of love you had for your first partner. 

One picture ruined my wish.

I didn't see it coming. Of course, I knew I was frequently shipped with other idols. That was a part of the idol experience. Because PD-nim set a ban on dating for me as well as my fellow members, I always thought that I would never have to date an idol for reasons other than our own wills. I didn't even think my love life would be a problem until the fateful day BLACKPINK would have to disband, and the dating ban would be lifted. Unfortunately, not all wishes come true.

And so, one night I had been sleeping peacefully, excitement growing inside of me for our departure to Hawaii the next day for BLACKPINK TV, and the next morning, my life had been turned upside down after I read that horrifying article of me and Taehyung apparently 'going out on a karaoke date'. As if the article itself hadn't been shocking enough, the comment section was on a whole other level.

aoaaseolhyunaaaa: I never really thought of them as a couple but they are a pretty popular ship... between ARMYs and BLINKs at least. Anyway, I don't know whether this is legitimate or not but I think that if they want to date, they should. Dating bans are horrible. They are idols, not slaves.

Because of the article appearing and going viral out of nowhere, we had to postpone our trip and the release date of BLACKPINK TV to settle the issue. I had been summoned to go for a meeting alone with PD-nim, which might have been one of the scariest things I had ever had to go through. After a heavy interrogation, he had told me to wait it out for a while as he discussed the problem with BigHit's producer, Bang PD. He also had said not to read the comments, but I had already done so. Bad move on my end.

After about a week of this still trending, PD-nim had called me in for yet another meeting, but with the other members this time. He had told me that V and I would need to act as a couple for approximately two years. Our relationship would officially be announced on the 31st of December. During these two years, we would have to act extra friendly whenever we saw each other on stage for music festivals and whatnot. We would also have to 'get caught' by Dispatch for going out on dates at least once a month. After a year of 'dating', we would move into an apartment together. After another year, we would break up, the reason being due to our busy schedules. At least there was one thing this fake relationship had with the relationship I had always envisaged.

Then, we went on our trip to Hawaii. I had tried to put on a bright smile and be my usual self for the camera, but I couldn't hide the fact that there was a tight knot in my stomach. Something about being forced to date a guy I barely knew just gave me the jitters.

The next few weeks after filming for BLACKPINK TV ended passed by in a blur. We returned to Korea. We continued recording for our new song, learning the choreography, going for meetings and fanmeets. The 'Taennie' issue wasn't brought up again. 

Then, SBS Gayo Daejun happened. We attended and performed a cover of 'So Hot' by Wonder Girls, and 'AS IF IT'S YOUR LAST', a fan favourite - well, there wasn't really much to choose from. We only had five songs. Anyway, that was besides the point.

The point was that BTS was also there, and more importantly, V was there. We met eye contact several times, and every time we locked eyes, the eye contact lingered for a few more seconds than they usually did. I knew he knew. He knew I knew. We both knew that we would have to be linked romantically for the next two years.

Other than small eye contact, we tried our best to avoid each other to avoid getting more hate and outrage from the media. While some netizens were happy that their 'OTP' had finally sailed, others were beyond devastated and furious for reasons that didn't make sense. I just brushed it off. The media was a bitch, and I had learnt that the hard way.

We would have a meeting next week, with Bang PD and V. That would be the first time I would meet this 'Kim Taehyung' guy, despite what the article stated about us being schoolmates in the past. Until then, I could only wait for my imminent doom.

a/n: ok wow there isn't really much to this chapter but it was kind of a filler chapter?? anyway the quotes at the beginning are translated lyrics from their songs just in case you were confused. ahh its the first day of 2018 HAPPY NEW YEARR wooo um ya I'll try to update this story as well as ataraxy as much as I can, but I'm going to be pretty busy this year so I can't promise much. tomorrow's my first day of school which I'm dreading so damn much eghudsjihyrfhu but anyway you probably don't care about that so uh I'll just end it here before I make more of a fool out of myself lol. hope you enjoyed this chapter and uh yeahh ok bye haha
