Seoul had always been a noisy place. And I never liked noisy places.
So when I found out that we were moving in together, I had hoped we would be moving to a less popular area in Seoul. Unfortunately, I had to remain in the heart of Seoul, right across the Han river.
What I didn't expect was to have the BTS members pay 'special visits' to Taehyung and I almost everyday.
The first time, it was understandable. I was having trouble carrying my boxes, so they all decided to help me - even though the apartment was literally a minute away from where the van had dropped me off and I only had three boxes with me.
Once I had settled in and started to unpack, they left me to it, claiming they had stuff to do even though I could tell they didn't want to go through the boring stuff. Taehyung appeared out of the kitchen, clad in a loose, ginormous white hoodie and barely visible shorts. Having to peel my eyes away from his exposed, tan calves, I bowed, greeting him. I wasn't quite sure where we stood after that incident two days ago. On one hand, he seemed to have loosened up around me. On the other hand, after that 'intimate' moment had happened, he had cleared his throat and walked away briskly, not bothering to hold the elevator open for me. I guess I would have to wait and see.
"Jennie, I was walking around the apartment and I realised it only has one bedroom. I called to check on this issue because they told us in our contract that when we moved in together, we would have two separate bedrooms and bathrooms. They haven't gotten back to me yet."
"Oh, well it's okay, really. I'll just sleep on the couch."
"Nonsense."
"No, really. I'm fine."
"Shut up. I'm sleeping on the couch. If it really bothers you, we can take turns. But you're going to sleep on the bed tonight."
I sighed, turning away to start unpacking as I realised I wouldn't be able to get my way on this one. After that conversation, we didn't really talk, much less acknowledge each other. Taehyung went to the BTS apartment to have Jin's trademark dinner, and even though I received a text from Jungkook inviting me to join them - I had no idea how he got my number in the first place - I declined politely, not wanting to put myself in an awkward position with six guys I only knew the names of, and a guy who probably wasn't very fond of me.
Like he had promised, I slept in the room tonight, while he slept on the couch. He was a heavy sleeper, but a quiet one too, contrary to his loud sneezes. Other than heavy breathing, he stayed in one position almost the whole night.
While I was trying to fall asleep, my mind drifted off to wonder about random, meaningless thoughts. However, one of them remained ingrained in my memory, and when I woke up the next morning, I was still thinking about it. What would it have been like if I hadn't ran away from him that day in the janitor's closet? The more I thought about it, the more I regretted my actions and felt even more apologetic, as if I wasn't apologetic enough before. But when I opened the bedroom door to find Taehyung to apologise again, he was gone.

This routine continued for the next week or so. Taehyung would leave in the morning for breakfast, spend majority of his day there or training, and come back only late at night after dinner. Of course, I had to record our new song and film the music video for it. However, the problem with YG was that he never took long to actually write the song and record and film for it. The thing that took so long was what he called the 'polishing stage', where he'd spend weeks and even months, sometimes, refining it and changing bits and pieces until he thought it was perfect. During this 'polishing stage', the members and I didn't have much on our plates - we trained almost everyday, but it was just like trainee life, except they didn't cut five of us out every month.
And so, I simply went through the motions, going through the everyday monotony and failing to look for something to spice it up. This routine I had once enjoyed had now become a burden to me, so when the thing that would spice my boring life up came long, I was more than jubilant - not intially, though.
Ding-dong.
I looked up from my desk, surprised to hear the doorbell ring for the first time. Curiosity overwhelmed me. Taehyung had his own key, and no one ever visited me. Rose was going out with her mom, Jisoo was finishing up her last day as emcee for Inkiyago, and Lisa was doing a shoot for Nonagon. Who could it be?
I rushed over to the door, not even bothering to look through the peekhole as I was too curious. What stood there, on the other side of the door, was the last thing I had expected.
