"What are you laughing at!" I said furious.

"Why do you need a stick?" She said laughing.

"Because it's the same shape of the swords we're going to be getting."

"You seen one?!" Her eyes went wide as if she's seen a ghost.

"Yeah ever since I was little. Why?"

"Wait. Are related to the kidnapped leader?!"

"Yeah. I was leader for at least a couple of days or maybe even weeks. How do you not know?"

"I was in jail around that time. I came out a week ago and I'm surprise they let me still go on this mission but we should start practicing."

We picked up the books and the stick and we started quizzing each other. We would do a game which if you get a question wrong you would get hit with the stick. I'm going to win but I missed one on purpose to start up the conversation again.

She picked up the stick and held it to the store of her ready to swing.

"Why was you in jail?" She looked up at me and hit me under the ribs.

"Dang it I was too low." She pouted.

"Why was you in jail?" I repeated.

"Why does it matter?" She snapped.

"Why won't you answer the question?"

"It doesn't affect the battle so waste time talking about it." Again she has a point there. Maybe she doesn't want to even talk about it so I'll lay off for now.

I looked down at my phone to see it was almost time for the meeting to talk about when we're leaving.

She helped me put the stuff back in the tree and we ran up the hill. And of course she was right behind me.

When we got there, everyone was there. I walked over to the store and bought me a soda and a bag of chips. I turned around and there she was. She looked up at me with her blue eyes. She started to turn around but she stopped when she realized I wasn't following her.

   "Don't you have friends?"

"Yes but we're partners so we have to stay together."

"That doesn't matter here. We're safe here so go hang out with your friends."

"Ok." She said so soft and loving. She walked out of the store and I could see her run to her friends through the window. I walked over to the counter and payed.

I walked out and I saw her eyes shoot toward me and she grinned. I acted like I didnt see it and started walking through the crowd. I looked over my shoulder to see her grinning. I rolled my eyes and walked around until I found a good spot.

I opened my chips and started to mumble on them. She reaches into the bag and pulls out a chip. I saw my group of friends over there looking at us. They started making faces when they noticed I was sitting with a girl.

I gave her the chips and that's when the meeting started.
