brooke

after two months of living with remington, things started getting normal. the waking up late was a normal thing and hanging out with nick was frequent as well. everything seemed to be going fine since i've got here, sure the guys moods about me didn't change-same with the girls-but i stopped minding for i had two people who enjoyed me.

you can't please everyone, it's what i've grown to know.

i sat up in the bed as the sound of breaking glass came from outside my door. i looked to my side to see an empty bed, it was remington who had probably thrown the glass. recently him and sebastian had been fighting a lot. i was too frightened to ask if everything was okay because he never looked in the mood to speak of it but i knew something was going on this week.

nick had told me just to be comforting to remington; like i would with anyone else. but it was hard to be there when everything that was going on was so secretive.

the sound of the bedroom door unlocking, locking it was a new thing that remington did, had me scurrying to the edge of the bed to try and catch a glimpse of what was happening outside the door.

"what are you doing?" nick laughed nervously at me. "nothing." i mumbled sitting back in the bed. "i think we should go out." he told me with a faint smile. "why? what's happening?" i asked. "nothing worth talking about, i promise i'll tell you once we leave, you know i do that, i just don't want to be killed right now." nick was a big help with telling me things that remington didn't keep me updated on.

i hadn't had the chance to talk with nick though, actually i hadn't really had the chance to leave the room under strict order by remington. "can i leave the house?" i asked as i heard more things breaking.

nick sighed. "probably not and i don't want you getting punished seeing the mood he is in." he bit his lip. "brooke, the girls are beyond mad at you, they complained saying that you're sleeping around with remington which is highly looked down upon, you're not supposed to do that unless you're a vampire as well." he told me.

"why?" i asked finding the whole thing he had just said to be untrue. "apparently it ruins the bond and they won't agree to promising you, honestly i think it's a bunch of crap, i've been slee-" "you're not going to promise any of those girls, i assume it's a different thing." i mumbled.

he nodded. "so this is about my treatment?" i asked. he nodded. "you see remington had another promised who he gave the same treatment as everyone else, basically the council assigned him someone who he had to become promised to and he hated her, he did it for the sake of the council but didn't transform her and told them the change wasn't successful." nick told me.

"anyways, not the point. sebastian thinks that remington is indeed sleeping around with you and started telling remington that if he doesn't move you back into the shared bedroom then he's going to have to kick you out so remington's been throwing a fit for the past four hours, surprised you just woke up." he shrugged taking a sip from a mug.

i could see the red outline his lips telling me it was blood. "does that even taste good?" i asked. "sure, to me." he told me with a simple shrug. "oh." i mumbled a response.

"so am i going to be... kicked out?" i fiddled with my fingers afraid of the answer. "sebastian could do that, throw you out onto the streets but i don't think it would turn out good in the long run, remington wouldn't be happy and he'd go out to find you." nick assured, my concerns subsided but that didn't fix the fact that he could easily still do it, it's whether he wanted to or not.

"get out." remington grumbled stepping into the room and pushing nick out of it. nick didn't question it as he scurried out of the room without another word. i smiled sympathetically at remington as he paced the floorboards of the room.
