Lance definitely had a concussion. Keith noticed that right away. The blue paladin's usual behavior was replaced with... something that the red paladin couldn't quite name.

"Lance, does your head still hurt?"

The blue paladin looked up at Keith, shaking his head with a quiet sigh. "I gave you the same answer five minutes ago."

"I'm just making sure," Keith leaned back. "You're acting weird."

Lance looked away from Keith with a sigh, making Keith wonder what was going on with the other paladin. "Did Allura and Coran tell you why I passed out?" Lance asked after a few minutes.

"No?"

"They told me I was Altean," Lance blurted, staring at his lap.

Keith was suddenly able to place the expression etched onto Lance's face. Lance wasn't in pain. He was in shock - just like Keith had been when he had learned of his heritage.

"Is that why you were suddenly angry with me?" Keith asked.

"What?" Lance gave him a confused look. "No?"

"I was just making sure," Keith said, placing his hands above his head as if surrendering. "You were suddenly really pissy with me after you came to."

Lance sighed. "I really was mad at you for pretending to hate me," he said softly. "The only reason I've ever been a jerk to you was... kind of a personal defence."

They fell into silence. Keith had no idea how to reply, and after a bit, Lance gave up on waiting. He couldn't tell Lance why he had been a jerk, could he? Would Lance hate him more if he did? In the end, he decided it was the only thing he could do.

"Lance," Keith started, growing flustered as he started having second thoughts. He normally wasn't this impulsive. Why now? "I-I... uh..."

"Keith Kogane is at loss for words," Lance smirked. "I never thought I'd see the day; What's making you so nervous?"

Instead of answering with real words, Keith leaned in to kiss him before he regretting his decision. Lance froze up under the red paladin's hold. He tried to pull away from the boy kissing him.

"Keith...? He asked unsurely.

Keith, thinking his unsurity was annoyance, got up from Lance's bad while muttering a hasty apology. Lance blinked slowly as he watched him leave. Could this day get any weirder?
