After some quick thinking, we both went to our rooms, quickly packed an overnight bag and rode out to LA where I got some cash from the ATM. It wasn't until we drove past a hotel that I thought of the idea to get one for the night. One of my good friends from high school, JJ, worked at the DoubleTree Hotel in downtown. I called him up and he was able to do me a favor a got us a room for less than half the normal price.

"Oh, this is nice," Izzy said as we walked in to our room.

My boy did good. A king suite for $75. The view was awesome, overlooking the busy city that is Los Angeles. Spacious. Clean. 4 Star. You can't beat that.

Taking a break from my crutches, I sat down on the couch and propped them up against the wall.

"I'll give you my half of this," she said, continuing to look around, "this was a good idea. I'm already feeling some relief."

Her phone started ringing for what had to have been the one hundredth time since we left. Mine was the same.

"Yeah, I couldn't sit around with them. Definitely wasn't going home," I grabbed her hand and pulled her towards me as she silenced the ringer, "and definitely did want to be away from you."

"Awe, you're so sweet," she sat in my lap, "Zo?"

"Yeah?"

"If what were doing...if "dating" is too much drama and is distracting you from what you need to then-"

"Stop. Don't listen to anything my dad said. You're not the cause of anything that happened and you're not a distraction," I corrected her, "I've told you this before. I wouldn't have anybody close to me like you are if they weren't good for me."

I was hoping that what my dad said wouldn't sink in with her. He didn't know Izzy like that to make those assumptions. He should want a girl like her with me.

"I'm good for you?"

"You're great for me."

She smiled, started blushing and buried her head in the crook my neck.

"And you don't owe me anything for this, just so you know," I said, "I'm kinda hungry though, let's go get something to eat."

"Okay, but we totally need to shower first. We both smell like practice still."

"Together? It'll save the hot water. You know you girls like the water boiling. If I go first it won't be warm enough for you."

"Nice try," she laughed, standing up, "but that's not gonna happen. I'll go first."

She looked back and winked at me.

I couldn't take my eyes off of her, watching as she grabbed clothes from her suitcase and walked into the bathroom. The door closed behind her and my mind immediately started to imagine her taking of her clothes. Then my mind went from there to the time we were close to becoming intimate with each other as I walked back to the bed where my bag was.

I tried to change my train of thought as I pulled out something to put on after I showered. I could take her somewhere nice to eat and turn this into a date, however, I knew we were trying keep a low profile.

I decided to check my phone, which I knew was blowing up.

Pops: where are you? You can't just run off like that. Answer the phone. Now.

Mamma: Son, just let me know that you're okay. I'm sorry about what happened earlier.

MeloD1️⃣p: I won't say nothing. I got you bro.
