Cathy's POV

"So how was it?" Is the first thing I hear from Kenna when I get back to my room from brunch.

"Horrible." I groan. I pull my hair out of the incredibly tight bun and peal off the hideous outfit my mom dressed me in. Well it's not actually hideous, I just feel hideous in it.

"It was breakfast how bad could it have been?" Alex questions.

"It just went on longer than it needed to." I go through a drawer and take out a black v-neck, and jean shorts. Comfortable. I just want to be comfortable. "Ricky's mom is delusional. Like batshit crazy."

"What did she say this time?" Emily sits up on the bed.

"It's not really what she says, it's what she implies. Every conversation I've had with this lady always turns back to Ricky and I and I think I'm going to explode if I hear it one more time." I cup my face with my hands and try not to scream.

Ricky's mom is a nice lady I guess, but she just needs to realize that I will not have a future relationship with her son. That ship sailed a long time ago.

"Well who cares? Let her look insane." Alex tries to cheer me up. I drop my hands to the back of my neck and close my eyes. "She can't just insist that you end up together."

My phone buzzes on the side table. "Em, can you pass me my phone?" She turns to retrieve my phone and I take a step closer to her to get it. "Thanks."

*Ready when you are ;)*

The text is from Harry. I've been so annoyed over Mrs. Landon's drama, that I almost forgot that we're hanging out today. I don't even realize the smile creeping up on my face.

Kenna clears her throat loudly, causing me to look up from my phone screen. "Is he waiting for you?" She tries her best not to smile.

I nod.

"Well then go." She gestures to the door and rolls her eyes dramatically.

I slip on my toms and head for the door, "Don't come back late!" She yells just before I'm out the door.

Harry's POV

I wait in the staff parking lot leaning against my car. It's beautiful now, but I hope it doesn't rain soon.

Soon I see Cathy approaching the parking lot. She looks around trying to find me. It's cute how I'm the only person standing here, but she still looks. She finally notices me, laughs at herself and continues the short walk over.

"Was it hard to find me?" I tease her when she's just a few steps away.

"I wasn't sure where you'd be!" She poorly defends herself. She stops awkwardly just in front of me. Part of me feels as though she was expecting a different kind of hello. Stupid fucking me should've done something. Now we're just standing here awkwardly as I rub the back of my neck and she looks like she's spotted something behind me with her hands in her pockets.

Smoothe Styles. Real smoothe.

"How was your thing this morning?" I finally break the silence.

"My mothers brunch? Terrible." She scoffs.

"It could'nt have been that bad."

"Oh but it was."

Suddenly her awful morning gives me a better idea as to what we could do today.

"I bet you're dying to get away from here now, huh?" I get up my car and walk over to the drivers side while unlocking the doors. I take her getting into my car as a response. I start to the engine my old ford fusion. I've been saving to get a new car, but it seems i'll be saving until i'm thirty.
