It's been a week since that incident in the kitchen happened. Also, it's been a week since we've seen and talked to each other. I'm so frustrated!
The sales presenter's keep talking about our sales for the last month until now pero wala akong naiintindihan. I kept on playing with the pen on my hand while thinking of Yves. How can he sleep so peaceful at night? I hope he gets nightmares!
"Marge, 'yung mga papel nakusot na."
I heard Tam whispered so I looked at him. Napaatras pa siya ng konti nang lingunin ko siya. Alam kong lumalabas na naman ang kasungitan ko. We're in a meeting and all of my workers are here. They're seated on a long table with me on the middle far end. Isa-isa ko silang tinignan pero lahat sila napayuko. Only the sales presenter has the courage to smile at me. I gave her back the smile she's giving me. Unti-unti rin namang nawala ang ngiti niya at napayuko.
"Where is the ambassador from UK?"
Isa-isa ko silang tinignan pero iniiwas nilang lahat ang mga mata nila. Oh, they want me to get even more mad. My eyes stopped at Tam. He gave me a smile but I didn't buy it. I raised an eyebrow at him and waited for the answer.
"That's what I'm worrying about, Ms. Margaux. The accent's too strong that I couldn't understand what she's saying. Akala ko model, ambassador pala siya."
My eyes grew wider as Tam whispered the last phrase. I slammed my hands on the table. It created a loud sound which made them all flinched from their seats.
"Meeting's adjourned. Please, give the copies to Mr. Tam Andrada."
They hurriedly took the folders and went outside of the conference room. I hastily turned my head to Tam. "What's the ambassador's name again?"
"Sophia Maguire."
I checked through my emails pero wala akong nareceived sa kaniya. Naibagsak ko ang iPad sa mesa sa sobrang inis. I squealed that Tam had to cover his ears. Naalala ko tuloy si Yves.
"Dumadagdag ka pa talaga Sophia!" I suddenly burst out.
"Yes? I heard my name." Both of us looked at the person who entered the room.
Dahan-dahan akong lumapit sa kaniya at ganoon din siya sa akin. We measured each other's stares. Kahit gustong gusto ko na siyang sigawan, I smiled in a formal way before I pulled out my hand for a handshake. "Ms. Sophia Maguire, it's good to finally meet you."
She accepted my hand then I asked her to sit, first. We discussed a few things. I found out that she's also a model of the same luxury goods company as Bella.
Napansin ko ang titigan nila ni Tam. Tam was furiously looking at her while Ms. Maguire had one of her eyebrows lifted. I waited for them to stop from their kamalditahan contest pero wala 'ata silang balak tumigil. I snapped my fingers to get their attention.
"Just be thankful that your company's one of those well-known luxury brands and not just some kind of rubbish. If not, I'll never accept being one of your ambassadors."
Tam's expression shows that he didn't get what she's trying to say because of her accent. She's originally from Tyneside and she got a very strong accent.
I released a deep sigh then explained to Tam what she just said. Nakatulala lang siya hanggang sa bigla siyang tumayo at susugurin na sana si Sophia kung hindi ko lang siya pinigilan. "Tam, let me handle it."
