Chapter 2

Your P.O.V.
I can't do anything.
This is pathetic.
All I can do is sit on my bed in the infirmary.
Pet stood by my bed in her guard position, I was a higher rank than her so this was common of her and others to do.
Her stern cold face could kill at this point.
I was feeling well, sad.
Our village is basically dead.
Our lord is dead.
Soon a knock came to the door.
"Come in." I huffed.
The door opened revealing a woman with raven colored hair and kind maple eyes.
A woman with light blue hair and kind blue eyes stood behind her.
"Good evening, I'm Aphmau, this is my guard Katelyn." Aphmau said gesturing to the blue head.
Pet gave a little nod, she looks too scared to talk..
"Y/n, this is my friend Pet." I replied.
Pet shot her head at me with a surprised face.
She soon looked back at Aphmau and Katelyn, going back to her stern cold glare I gripped face.
"I'm guessing you both are tired. And, I'm sorry about you vi-","Don't be sorry for something you didn't do." I interrupted her.
Pet softly placed her han don my shoulder, signaling me to relax.
"W-well... I just want to say you both are welcome to stay here at Phoenix Drop. Lord April was a somewhat close friend of mine when I was Lord. (Kinda confused on who's lord, is it Aphmau or Levin? XD Imma say Levin)
She gave me help when Phoenix Drop was in need of help. So, I'm returning the favor." Aphmau said her gaze never leaving Pet and I.
"Well, A-Aphmau.. I appreciate deeply of your kindness, you don't come across many people like you. You have my respect." Pet said, and like the guard she is and kneeled down on one knee and bowed.
"Lord April would've said she would forever be in your debt. She's not here to say it but in our hearts she will. So, I will serve you." I stated.
The room went silent.
"Y/n! Your can't be serious! Think about it! Is that was Lord April would've wanted? Would she want you to throw all your duties to Amethyst Falls away and go off to another village!?! Be logical Y/n!" Pet yelled at me gritting her teeth.
Her eyes were now moist, tears looked to be threatening to spill.
"Lord April is dead! There is no Amethyst Falls anymore! We have no where Pet! Open your eyes! Over half of our soldiers are dead our village is burnt to the ground, we have nothing!! So stand down guard, we have to find a new lord to serve!!" I yelled back at her.
Her lip trembled as she started at me with her glassy eyes.
"Don't say that! We can bring it back!" Pet argued.
"No we can't! Who would even be the lord!?! Lord April doesn't have a spouse, any alive relatives including children!!!" I argued back.
Pet closed her visible eye tightly and let out a sigh.
"I need some air. I'll be back." Pet said leaving the room  and slamming the door behind her.
I let out a frustrated sighed and ran my fingers through my hair.
"Come on Aph, we should leave her to think." Katelyn spoke up.
Aphmau nodded, gave me a small wave then left with Katelyn, lightly shutting the door behind them.
I layed back thinking over what Pet had said.
She was right about me throwing my duties away for a whole new village, it didn't seem right.
I would feel incomplete.
But how could we rebuild if we have no lord?
We could have a remaining village vote for a lord, but what village?
What if only soldiers made it back?
My eyelids soon felt heavy from all the thinking.
I let them fall, bringing to some well deserved sleep.
I can think about it tomorrow.
Pets P.O.V.
How dare she.
She of all people should be agreeing with me.
Stop.
I can't turn on her.
Where even am I?
I looked around, using the moonlight as my guide of light.
It was pretty late out, no one would be up and around.
I should turn back.
Where would I go?
Y/n obviously wouldn't want to see my face after our argument.
Dammit Pet you just had to argue with her.
You could just put on a smile and nod your head pretending everything's ok like always, could you?
I growled, angry with my actions.
I'm so stupid.
I turned around to be met with a chest.
"HOLY F*CK!!"I yelled out of habit.
When you get to know me, you know I curse like a sailor.
The person in front of me chuckled, "You got some mouth there." He said.
So it's a male...
"Who are you?" I questioned, hovering my hand over my sword that was on my side.
"I could ask you the same question." He answered.
"Step into the light." I ordered.
I walked towards the light with a pair of footsteps behind me.
I turned around once I was in the light, I looked up to be met with a pair of emerald eyes.
"Who are you?" I repeated my question.
"I'm Travis. You?" He asked.
"Pet." I answered sternly.
"Ohhhh~ your from Amethyst Falls." He said pointing to my armor.
"So?" I questioned.
"I heard what happened there. To your village I mean." Travis said.
"Were you there in the fight?" I blurted out.
He shook his head.
"Than you were lucky." I whispered averting my eyes to my feet.
Remembering the blood soaked ground with a hint of tears.
"You look like you've seen some pretty horrid things." He said softly placing a hand on my shoulder, making me flinch a bit.
"I guess you could say that. I witnessed thousands upon thousands die in front of my eyes, I saw my village burn to the ground until all that was left was ash. I saw the blood and tears spill out on to the ground, people screaming, parents getting their kids to safety but the parents suffered along with the kids sometimes.
So yeah. You can say I've seen some stuff." I said in almost a whisper voice.
It was silent after that.
All that was heard was Travis and I's breathing along with random chirping in the forest.
"I'm sorry you ah to see that." Travis said breaking the silence.
"Don't be sorry. Now, I must go or my firmed might start to worry. Good night Travis." I said walking off.
Ok that was kind of a lie.
We were in an argument so I don't know if Y/n WOULD be happy to see me.
But Y/n was always someone who worried if a guard didn't make it back in time after only a two hour trip.
She would pace and worry and mumble to herself.
Than she'd be so thankful to see them back she'd hug them before going off to work.
This has happened on many occasions when I left for a day long trip, and I would be back until afternoon the next day, but I'd always be a little late since I would have to stop for food or help villagers.
She'd hug me tightly than walk off.
That's the Y/n I know.
And that's the Y/n I will always know.
