Sorry for the lack of updates!
Enjoy!

This is more of a filler chapter when you were back in training

Your P.O.V.

The sounds of metal clashing and loud commanding voice of trainers sounded new to me at first. It had already been my second week in training and I had made no improvement. "I hate this!" I had screamed, throwing my sword on the training ground in rage. "Hey! L/N, don't be blinded by rage, pick up that sword and stop being a damn child!"

I narrowed my eyes at my teacher whom I called Axworthy as it was his last name.
"I refuse! I can't do it...this was a mistake..." I could feel my parents' words pressing into my heart, where they seemed to stay or echo in my mind.

"Mistake?~"
I heard a familiar but unfamiliar voice behind me.
A hand is placed on my head, "What's a mistake, darling?"
Axworthy stood stiffly saluting at whoever was behind me.
I turn around to spit my problems out but freeze up when I see the soft round face of my Lord April.
"I-I...uh..." I swallow hard before saluting.
She laughs gently taking her hand off my head, "Sorry, did I surprise you? I just returned from Metelli and thought I'd pop in."

Lord April looks at Axworthy, "Calm down Echo I'm no one special."
"B-But M'lady..."
"It's alright," She brushed a strand of her flawless black hair behind her small brown ear, "I'm not a higher level than anyone else."
She fixated her eyes at me, slowly I stopped saluting as well as  Axworthy.

"Now darling, why don't you tell me your name?"

"Y/n L/N..."

"What a gorgeous name!" She looked me up at down as if she was taking mental notes on my appearance.
"You want to become a guard, right?"
I shrugged, " I guess...It's hard though..."
Lord April laughed, "Well, no one said it would be easy. But hang in there...I see potential in you. Lots of it."

My eyes widened slightly at her words, That was my first time personally meeting the Lord and it was the best experience ever.
Lord April smiled again, "Well, I have other duties to do...carry on." She walked off leaving me speechless.

"...She's amazing isn't she?" Axworthy mumbled, watching Lord April laughing and smiling happily with her guards. Slowly I nodded, "I see...why she's Lord." I turned my attention back to Axworthy, he hummed quirking an eyebrow. "Even though she is small and maybe isn't as fit as most girls...she has such a powerful voice, such powerful actions. Something that can pull at your heart and make you want to follow her to the ends of this world."

Axworthy stared at me in silence before speaking, "Yeah...couldn't have said it better myself, L/N." He scratched the back of his neck even cracking a small smile. I noticed the pink that dusted his cheeks. Oh..I understand now. I put aside his blush and how obvious his feelings were.

"Axworthy...I want to continue to train." His smile and blush disappeared. He stared at me, "L/N, I am only willing to continue teaching you if you give it you're all. I will NOT stand for your foolishness anymore if your heart isn't in it. Is that clear, L/N?!" And...he's back to his determined state.

"CRYSTAL CLEAR!" I stared back just as determined. "GOOD! NOW PICK THAT DAMN SWORD UP AND TRAIN, L/N!" I nodded, gripping the swords handle before picking it up, carrying its weight. "Good posture... don't have your grip too tight now...No! Now it's too loose!"  Mess up after mess up, Axworthy would yell at me. But I never stopped trying. Lord April's words had stuck with me.

"I see potential in you. Lots of it"

This only made me train harder and longer. Even when training was done for the day, I'd find ways to practice. I had always felt pairs of eyes stare at me, but it was fine...I was just becoming stronger, I was just becoming capable of protecting someone who pulled at my heart, I was just becoming my Lords' next personal guard.

One day after training I sat out to take a small break. I gulped down water, panting and sweating. And that's when I saw Lord April for the second time. A smile couldn't help but make it's way on to my face. I saluted as she started to walk down the hall. Lord April had been walking with someone else, but it was not a guard, it was not a chaperone, it was not anyone I had recognized.

Lord April walked with a much shorter girl. She had dark brown curly hair, tan skin and horrible posture. Little had I known at the time, but that girl was, in fact, my best friend to be. "Ah! Y/n! Stop with the formality, need I remind you of how equal we are?" April laughed gently stopping to pay attention to me.

My smile widened and my hand had lowered. She remembered my name... "Apologies, M'lady." She waved her hands in dismissal, "No worries! I was actually looking for you, I need you to show  Pet Okuma around. She's new to training." April smiles, "I would do it myself but as being Lord it's hard to get away from duties, even now I'm not supposed to be here."

"I-It's no problem!" I stood up abruptly and smiled, "I'll show her around, go catch up on your work." Lord April was taken aback but slowly smiles. She places a hand on my head and lets her lips gently ghost my forehead. "Thank you very much, Y/n." She lets her hand fall and turns to-I'm assuming- Pet, "I hope to meet you two again." Surprisingly, Lord April bows before waving and leaving us.

"...She's too nice..." Pet muttered, slowly looking back at me. "Yeah... I'm Y/n L/N. You're Pet Okuma, right?" Pet nodded, "Mhm...Listen, I'm not really big on physical activity... but I have to become a guard. So...just a warning, I'll give up a lot."

I looked at her, "...Don't give up... You're capable-" "I know, I've heard it all before." She sighed, "Just show me around..."

I stared at her more before speaking, "Alright but really...I believe in you wholeheartedly. And maybe if you aren't wanting to continue on you shouldn't be here." had I been so cold that day perhaps things wouldn't have gone as smoothly as it did.

Pet stared back, a small smile gracing her lips, "I...I won't give up... just so I, can prove to you that I should be here."

I cracked a smile, "I look forward to seeing you prove your point." We let out a chuckle before walking along the hallway, comforting silence blanketing us. I only break it when I point to a place in the training building and grounds.

Though we said not a word about it, we felt it. A spark of friendship between us because of Pet wanting to prove something to me. It was a silent sentence that neither of us had to say because we just knew it.

We were friends.
