You take a deep breath as you put on your snow goggles and peer down the snowy hill. The baby hills were easy and you could easily stop but now you're on a bigger hill. It kind of scared you.
"Here we go," you say and scoot yourself to the edge then slide down the hill, putting pressure on your toes to dodge a child lying on the snow. A smile appears in your face as you don't fall within the first few seconds but then out of nowhere a body appears out of the snow and you crash into it.
"Oh my god! I'm so sorry!" he exclaims and you sit down, trying to register what happened. You look to where the voice came from and see a concerned boy your age peering over you, his goggles on his helmet so you can see his face clearly.
"Hi," you say, blinking a couple times and taking off your goggles.
"Are you okay? How many fingers am I holding up?" the boy asks, talking really fast and holding three fingers in front of your face.
You jerk your head back in surprise before swatting his hand down, "I can see fine. What happened?"
"Well, I fell then tried to stand up but you came sliding into me. I guess it's my fault really but you should have," he rambles on but stops, "Never mind. I'm Jack."
"Y/n," you say, smiling a bit before trying to stand up on your snowboard.
"Here," he says, helping you up and you mutter a thanks.
The two of you stand in silence for a few seconds before Jack speaks up, "Going that way?"
He points down the hill, making you laugh, "Yeah."
I learned how to snowboard yesterday and I'm so sore. It rained today so the hills were too slushy and wet so I'm going tomorrow. Here's the outfit:
