We sat in the office with Kirova leaning up against her desk and Guardians surrounding the room.

"So it's impresedented that I'm at a loss at coming up with proper punishment." Kirova said. Rose leaned forward, "As Lissa's Guardian, I'm-" "Your not an official Guardian, Hathaway, you are a novice. You put Vasilisa and Amelia at the mercy of the Strigoi with love to destroy or even worse transform-" Kirova shot back until I cut her off, "It was my idea to leave, Rose only did what-" "A trained Guardian knows."

All of a sudden the door opened and Victor Dashkov walked through. Us three thought of him as an Uncle.

"Victor." Lissa breathed as she stood up to give her uncle a hug, "Lissa." He replied giving her a hug. Rose and I stood, I gave him a hug while Rose said it was nice to see him.

"Mr.Dashkov, you look so..." Rose left off. We knew what she meant, he looked worse because of his sickness. He looked old, frail, and twice his age.

"I know" he agreed, "my Sandovsky syndrome, it's gotten worse." He gravely replied. "Sorry. We never meant to worry you."

"Headmistress these girls have been through, so much." Victor said as he went to sit near where Lissa sat, while Kirova sat at her des king drinking blood from a bag. "As promised, your school and as Lissa's fathers oldest friend, I beg you to look into your heart."

"Vasilisa, I have the upmost sympathy for the loss of your parents and your brother, but why did you flee a heavily guarded compound of Moroi students from all over the world?" Kirova asked. "It's not easy to explain." Lissa and I told her, "Lissa and Amelia felt more endanger hear than on the outside as an anonymous teenager." Rose explained, "Fascinating." Kirova said sarcastically with her hands crossed.

"This is where you give me specifics." She asked, "Where's Ms.Karp? She could be here, maybe she'd some light on the situation." I asked Kirova.

Then it got silent, real silent. Kirova looked down at her desk, "Ms. Karp is no longer part of this institution." I looked around, stunned, everyone but Rose, Lissa and I were tense.

My favorite teacher is gone.

"This is where you give us specifics, what do you mean?" Rose asked leaning forward.

"It is not important!" Kirova raised her voice while she stood up and slapped her hands onto her desk. She walked around it and stood near the royal family pictures,"Vasilisa Dragomir is from one of the twelve royal families. She is the last of the Dragomir line."

"With my condition taken the Dashkov family out of contention, Lissa is a possible successor to the throne." Victor explained.

"But you," Kirova said stalking towards Rose, "Hathaway, a Dhampir girl, cut off from the community out in civilian streets, without a dime or social security number, blood whores, such an ugly term, but I'm sure Moroi men on business trips pay a lot for an especially sweet taste." As she grabbed Rose's chin and showed her fangs.

"Headmistress Kirova." Dimitri rushed out. She slowly let go of Rose's face and stood up, "They have the bond." " That's Impossible." She breathed out. "In my brief observations, Rose and Amelia could tell what Lissa was thinking or feeling, sometimes without being in the same place." Dimitri explained.

"What a rare and wonderful gift." Victor said, "This doesn't take away the fact that Rose Hathaway is Wild, Dangerous-" Kirova started until Dimitri finished it, "And Insubordinate and Vulgar." Dimitri said with a smile.

"Right here folks, right here." Rose said waving here hands to show that she could hear everything.

"But the number of female Dhampir guardians has gone down way too much to risk losing one with such potential." Dimitri said to defend Rose. "Ellen, what this impressive new guardian says seems reasonable." Victor said to defend Rose, also. "We're so sorry Headmistress." I said to Kirova, "After the crash, we lacked a strong parental figure to confide in." I then started using compulsion on her to save our asses, "I'm afraid Rose, Lissa and I got in way over our heads. Two crazy kids."
