The sky's colour was a prominent shade of red, combined with a pale orange, giving the illusion that a bouquet of roses exploded right in front of the bruised amber eyed girl.
It was a beautiful sight. And as she sighed, she wished that she could gaze at the sky forever.
If not forever...some more minutes.
But she never had the privilege to.
Chapter 3:Finn fucking Wolfhard
Break those walls.Wiping away her blood stained lip in an attempt to get rid of the metallic taste that stifled her mouth, Millie sighed heavily, as she tried to do what Sadie told her.
Flashback:
"Okay so here's the thing.We...don't really have parents. How do I put it..." Noah bit his bottom lip for a bit as he thought what was the best way to explain their situation to Millie.
"We're orphans." Gaten deadpanned as Millie's hair stood up on her neck.
"I'm sor-"
"Don't say it." Sophie sighed, as she ran a hand through her pixie cut.
"If we aren't, what's the point for you to be?"Millie nodded understanding, as a question passed her brain.
"But...how do you procure food...And clothes..?"
Sadie smirked, as she got closer to Millie.
"We steal." She said as it was a casual thing, but it only made Millie's pupils to dilate, as her eyes grew a size bigger.
End of flashback
To steal.
It was simply something that Millie loathed.Everything in her life had been stolen.
Her happines. Her family. Her perception of life. Her freedom...To think that now she has to do the thing that she wanted to stop the most was irrational.Surreal.
That's what she was afraid of.That she had to do the things other did to her.How world can fuck you up...She wanted to beat herself to a pulp.
But despite all her toughts, there she was, filling her bag with vegetables, as time pressed her."Come on!Faster or we'll get caught!" Sophie whispered through gritted teeth, as Millie was hard-pressed.
"Hey!You two!Stop right here!" A relatively short chubby man yelled, running towards his stall of food.
"Crap! The shopkeeper is here!Let's go!" Sophie yelled at Millie as she grabbed her hand, dragging her away."You dimwits!Come back here!" The shopkeepers face grew red as he grabbed the first person he saw, by its collar.
"I'll give you ten dollars if you fucking get those two!No, fuck it!Just get me the bag!"
The boy he caught however wasn't startled at all by the old man's behaviour.Instead of running immediately, he remained calm, and showed a small smile.
"First the money, then the prey." He announced as the man's face grew even redder than before, as he grabbed the top of his head.
"You sneaky bastard!Do I look like a fool to you?!Hm?!" He yelled in his face as some spit somehow made its was towards the boys face, as he stuck his tongue out in disgust.
"The money then the prey." He repeated again his previous sentence as the shopkeeper furiously threw in his hand ten bent dollars, as the boy grinned, stucking them alongside with his hands, in the pockets of his jeans.
