It was ironic that the girl named after a virgin goddess had lost her own in second year.

Artemis Avery was known for one thing: sleeping around. The witty Slytherin girl had a bad reputation, and did nothing to save it. On the contrary, she slept around with mostly anyone. But more than anything, she had a secret. One that threatened to shatter her life, and herself.

Regulus Black loved one thing: mysteries. When he accidentally walks into Artemis Avery with his roommate one night, he doesn't think much of it. But when she storms off in the middle of the night sobbing for no obvious reason, Regulus becomes curious.

As Regulus grows more interested about the girl, he notices how, no matter how many boys she sleeps with, she's always alone, with the exception of her loyal brother, Apollo.

But Artemis refuses to talk with him. Instead, she avoids him at all costs. Until she accidentally causes Regulus to float upside down in the Great Hall during breakfast. This sparks a war, fueled by curiosity and stubbornness.

After a life of chasing ghosts, Artemis finally feels like she's found someone that won't disappear at dawn.

After a life of chasing mysteries, Regulus finally feels like he's found the greatest one of all.
