Lia’s POV;
I slowly pulled on my high waist shorts, standing in the middle of my room. I moved my hips slowly to the beat of Video Games by Lana Del Rey, trying and failing to mimic her sleepy toned voice. My mom didn’t come home last night and that was okay. I hated when she was home anyways. I looked to my left and realized I still had an hour left before I had to be at school, but instead I just pulled on my corset and black classic vans before grabbing my iPhone off the iHome and walked out my room. I grabbed my hobo bag off the banister and rummaged through it to find my pair of diamonds studs at the bottom and quickly put them in, before grabbing my car keys off the hook and walking out the door. I climbed into my Nissan Cube and slowly tried to pull out of the drive way. I groaned as I came to a sudden stop because of the douche bag that zipped through our neighborhood like it was a speedway racetrack. I hooked my phone up to the speakers in the car and continued to sing the slightly depressing tune to my idols song and before I knew it, I pulled up in front of Carleton High, home of the Bald Eagles. I hated it here in California. It’s not like I lived in Los Angeles or one of the most important parts, just Tracy… a small city that no one knows about until they pass through it and keep on going. I pulled into my parking spot and turned off the ignition. I opened up my arm rest and grabbed my headphones before opening up my car door and getting out the car. As soon as I pressed the lock button, my phone started to ring. “Talk to me.” I answered.
“Lia, where are you?” My best friend, Josh, said on the other side.
“I’m at school, heading for the library to work on the extra credit for science.”
“Really? Extra credit? With your grades is that even allowed? You have straight A’s.”
“I have a solid A in Mrs. Finkle’s class; I would like to have an A-Plus if you would mind your own business.” I laughed.
“Sheesh, fine. Anyways, I was calling to tell you that I won’t be in English today.”
“What why?” I said, stopping in front of the main entrance. Josh missing English was like me going a day without listening to Lana…it just wasn’t right.
“I just have things to take care of.” Pause. “But, I promise I won’t leave you alone at lunch. I’ll be there for third period.”
“Josh, you will be the death of me.”
He just laughed, “Ah shut up, you never know, might be scoring you front row seats to see Lana.”
“Don’t even play with my emotions.”
Justin’s POV;
I sat in the library, looking for some stupid book, for some stupid research project. I heard the door open and watched pretty little Lia walk in, looking as good as always with her hair pulled into a sloppy bun on top of her head, little strands hanging around her face, that short corset hanging from her body, stopping right above her navel giving me a sneak peek to her belly piercing and those shorts showing off her perfectly round ass. Who knew the biracial beauty could be so…intoxicating? She was the only girl in this school that I wanted and I couldn’t have, it actually frustrated me how much she didn’t want me. I don’t want her, but I did want her. I wanted her to want me like every other girl in the school just so I could treat her like the others. But Lia, Lia was very different. Different everything. She shopped at thrift stores, Urban Outfitters, and American Apparel. During the summers she eats outside and during the winters, she eats in the corner of the library, careful not to drop a crumb on the clean carpet. I watch her, I watch her like a hawk actually. Every guy wants her, she maybe different but her body was like a Victoria’s Secret model. I have never once seen her talking to anyone but that kid Josh, who I envy. He has the opportunity to have the most wanted girl in the school and he will not take the chance. I walked over to her, and put on the number one smile.
