9.
Lia’s POV;
I agreed to meet Justin for dinner at this local diner. I needed to talk to him about Josh blowing up on me and hopefully he could give me some kind of advice about how I could get my best friend back. I pulled my Nissan into the parking spot and turned off the ignition. I felt the sob in my throat rise as I tried to push it back down and stay strong. I miss Josh already and it hasn’t even been a day. I frowned as I looked through the window and saw Justin sitting by himself. I grabbed my purse and slowly got out my car, locking it behind me before walking into the building. “Sorry, I’m late.” I sighed, pulling into the booth. I looked up at Justin who was just frowning back at me. “Oh my god Justin what the hell happened to your face?”
He smiled a little, “Just a small encounter at the mall.”
“It looks like you got your ass kicked baby.” I moved out my seat to sit next to him.
He turned his face towards me and leaned in for a kiss. I pulled away and ran the pad of my thumb against the purple bruise surrounding his eye. “Kiss me, Lia.”
“You need ice.”
“I need you.”
I blushed and let my hair fall into my face. “You have me.”
“Good now kiss me, and make my day better.”
I leaned in slowly for a soft kiss, before pulling away when the waitress walked up to the table. “Ahem, sorry.”
She only smiled and said, “Can I get you two lovebirds anything to drink?”
“Um, just one chocolate milkshake with two straws.” Justin smiled and looked at me.
“Also a bag of ice would be good.” I added.
Justin’s POV;
“Lia, you didn’t even touch the milkshake, I’m fine.” I smiled, pulling her hand away from my face.
“Who did this to you?” She questioned, sipping the shake before turning back to my face.
“Josh and I ran into each other…” I mentioned, shrugging my shoulders.
“Josh did this to you?” She practically squealed.
As if on cue, Josh and Becca Myers of his walked in and Lia got up.
“Lia, stop!” I tried to pull her back but she didn’t budge.
Oh boy.
Lia’s POV;
“Josh who do you think you are?” I yelled, making everyone in the diner to look our way.
“Why are you talking to me?” He retorted.
“Oh shut up, I can see right through you. We’ve been friends forever, did you forget? I know you’re just putting on a front so that you don’t look like a retard in front of everyone, while you hurt everyone in your path.”
“Lia, look, just leave it alone.” Justin said from behind me, pulling me away.
“Look, how about you just stay out of it?” Josh yelled at Justin.
“Maybe you should leave me and my girlfriend alone!” Justin yelled.
“Lia, was my best friend before you would even give her a second look. Just a month ago, she was just another girl on your roster you couldn’t get, and that pissed you off. You made a bet, said a few kind words and now you guys are all lovey-dovey? This is bullshit. I’ve been trying to win this girls heart forever and I get nowhere, and for you to come out of nowhere and show her a tad bit of attention, just shows how easy she truly is.” Josh said watching Justin.
I looked around the diner and watched as they looked at me, “I am not, easy.”
“Oh, you’re not? I’m sure it won’t be long until you put out for him…if you haven’t done so already.”
“Josh, that’s enough.” Becca said pulling him back.
“I am done, with all of this.” I said, walking back to the booth, grabbing my bed and walking out the back door.
Josh’s POV;
I didn’t mean a word coming out of my mouth. It was all pain that I was feeling and the moment I watched her walk out the diner I wanted to chase after her, and apologize immediately. I was about to say something when Justin’s fist connected with my jaw, sprawling me out on the cold tile beneath my feet. “I guess I deserved that. We even now?”
“That wasn’t from me, that was from Lia, because I know she wanted to do it, but she’s too much of a sweetheart to hurt someone that she loves like you. You’re a douchebag and you deserve to get your ass kicked for all the things you just told an innocent girl like that. You’re disrespectful, and I guess you’ll have to learn the hard way.”
“Oh really? We’re talking about disrespect towards women?” I commented.
Justin just scowled and walked away. I watched as he got in his car and started to chase after his girlfriend. I picked myself off the ground slowly to see disappointed eyes watching me. “What? The shows over, go back to minding your own damn business.”

Lia’s POV;
I slowly pulled into my drive way and sat there for a good five minutes, forcing myself to keep the sobs back. I sighed as it started to rain heavily and beat the steering wheel a few times before grabbing my things and getting out the car. As I was searching for the right key to unlock the door to my house I saw Justin’s Range Rover pull into my drive way. I sighed turned to look at him, “What do you want?”
I watched as he ran towards me getting soaked, “What’re you done with? I need to know.”
“You could’ve just called me.”
“No I couldn’t have, I need to hear you say it in person.”
“Justin, go home.” I opened the door and placed my bags on the floor.
He pushed the door open and looked at me, before crashing his lips to mine. My body immediately responded to his. I felt his hands slide against my wet skin as he pulled my light jacket off. Justin pushed my body against the wall, and his lips started on my neck. I couldn’t stop the moan from escaping from my mouth. “Oh my god Lia, I want you so bad.”
I wrapped my legs around his waist, “I want you too Justin, oh god.”
~*~
We were both panting and close together on my bed when we finished. My eyes were heavy and half lidded. I felt Justin’s arms tighten around my waist and I shifted a bit.
“I love you Lia.” Were the last words I heard, slipping from Justin’s lips, before I drifted off into a deep blissful sleep.
