I was gazed out the window. Looking at the houses we pass, house after house passed by. Seeing less and less cars as we pass by. What was really happening right now. Never once in the state of Texas would the street be empty of cars. Even in Houston.
The sky still had a gloomy mood. Starting to set clouds above our heads. The news said nothing about the anticipation of rain today. They also didn't say anything about that thing back at the house. What would you even expect to call that thing. I can tell that it wasn't in their right mind.
It was shown in the eyes. Dead to the world.
"Aos, We will drop you off at your mother house. Make sure you call your mother." Tammy said turning the car left on a street.
"ok" I said to acknowledge her.
I took out my phone an dial my mother phone number, but it came as the same response. Voicemail. I sigh in despair. I'm now worried. She has not pick up the phone since I called her this morning. I tossed my phone on the seat. placing my head on the seat rest.
"Tammy, She didn't answer. It goes straight to voice mail" I with a worried tone in my voice.
"It will be ok Aos. Ok, maybe she is busy " before she was cut off from horns. My attention immediately turns to the front of the car. Grabbing the chair in front of me to propel myself to gain a better view. What I saw was once a common empty rode all heading one direction. North.
"What's happening" Johns as having the best seat of the entire Car.
"Yeah, What is happening mom?" Zero question his mother knowledge
" First we pack up and taking stuff that matters, We past by a lost of empty parking lots and now traffic all heading in one direction, What is happening"
I looked at Tammy wanting an answer too. I have never seen or experience anything like this before.
"I thought, You all watch the news" she said still on the same street. All we needed was to cross the street to get to my house and it is seeming impossible to reach the other side.
I looked at Zero. "yeah we watch the news" I said remembering some part of the news from this morning.
"Well, then you must have heard about the virus. That making people sick "
I couldn't remember much from the TV. I did just ignore it because it seem fake. But I guess ingoring stuff can get you lost.
"yeah I remember it said something about a virus, but I cannot remember much detail about the virus."
"Well this virus is not like ever other virus. It changes people. Making the seem dead to the earth, Having a mind that is beyond explainable. Cannibalism. They eat anything that lives. I know because I met one." she took a deep breath. " I was going to my car when they came spilling down the street. They seem like actors so no one payed attention to them. They attacked about six people before we realized that they were no longer actors but real. Real life Zombie"
My brain just sinked. Zombies; the last thing I would expect it to be would be zombies. Mindless people who has no reason but to kill. I slowly sinked back in my seat. What may have happen to my family. My mom has not answered since I called her this morning.
"wait mom are you saying that the world is being over thrown by Zombies" zero said no longer sitting back in he seat. His mother nodded. "So that thing you killed was a Zombie not a stranger?" his mother nodded, not willing to say a word.
I got to go to my family. Anything could of happen there.
I grabbed my bag "Open the door" I said standing up and walking to the side of the van. Crouching as I walked.
