"You're going to help me tell my mommy and daddy what happened, from the beginning. Is that OK?" Idina questioned, some sort of unknown communication happening between them.
Augustus swallowed and nodded. "I'll help you tell them everything," he promised. Idina held out her hand and Augustus took it. The princess took a deep breath and began.

Chapter Six: How it Began
The little princess was fast asleep, hugging a plush reindeer, quiet snores escaping her lips.
Clink. Clink. Clink.
Princess Idina groaned as she sat up and rubbed her eyes, looking around for the noise.
Clink.
She turned to the window and waited. A pebble hit the window.
Clink.
Idina cautiously walked to the window, and peered outside. It was pitch black, and she couldn't see a thing. She debated on opening it, until a little boy's voice whispered slash yelled "Hey! Princess!"
Idina, more curious than afraid, pulled up her window and leaned to look outside. She could barely make out his face, but he had chocolate brown hair and seemed to be around her age. "Who are you?" the little princess whispered down to the boy. "Augustus, Prince of Malvahan," he replied. "Come on out. Lets play!" he whispered excitedly.
"Be out soon!" Idina whispered back. She had friends, but not one of them was a Prince. She tiptoed down the stairs, careful not to wake her parents when she opened the door. The guards were slumped against the wall, snoring. Idina poked one. Weird, she thought. She didn't think about it too much though, as she caught them dozing off frequently as she roamed the halls when she was bored.
Idina walked out to the yard, squinting. "Hello?" she whispered. "Augustus?"
"Over here!" the boy replied, sitting under a tree. Idina smiled and ran to him. "What do you want to play?" she asked. She couldn't see his face, only his white suit shone through the blackness of the night. "Let's play..." Augustus paused. "I don't really know. What do you want to play?"
Idina giggled. "You called me down here! You can choose!"
Augustus shrugged. "I...I actually never played a game before."
"Never? How?!" The little girl reacted dramatically, gasping and throwing her hands up in the air.
Augustus laughed, but didn't answer.
"Never mind that. We'll play something." Idina thought for a moment. "There's this small area in the water that my mother and father enclosed for me to sit in my boat and play. We can go there and pretend to be pirates!"
"How did they enclose it?" Augustus asked.
"They have snow, ice, frost powers. Basically anything winter related, really," Idina said quietly, frowning.
Augustus jumped up excitedly. "Cool! Do you have any powers?"
Idina looked up at him, and she still couldn't see his face. "No," she answered dejectedly, but then added, "Why didn't you bring a lantern so we could see?"
Augustus offered her his hand and helped the princess up. "I.. forgot..." he said hesitantly.
"Okay." Idina seemed oblivious to the lie. "Let's go then! I know the way by heart."
Soon the prince and princess of different kingdoms reached the area of water enclosed by a huge, circular block of ice, with a little dock and a small white row-boat attached to it, floating in the water. Augustus stared at Idina's play space in awe. "So. Awesome!" He grabbed Idina's hand and ran to the dock, first helping Idina into the boat and then getting in himself.
Idina made an "o" with her right hand and pretended to look out of it like a telescope. "Look! Pirates! They've come to steal our gold, Augustus!"
Augustus grinned, loving this new activity already. "Wait- before we start, lets give ourselves different names."
Idina nodded. "I'll be... Queen.. Elizabeth of Arendelle, and you can be King Tobias of Arendelle! We are going on a trip to a far away land full of birds, rainbows, flowers...
"Monkies, tigers, elephants!"
"Unicorns!" Idina laughed, Augustus joining in.
"You never know though," the little prince said. "Unicorns might be real. You can still believe even if you don't see them." He paused. "Besides, I would understand why they would want to stay hidden from mankind. Some are evil," he flinched softly as his eyes glazed over.
"What do you mean?" Idina asked, confused. "Who is evil?"
"I cannot say," Augustus said.
"Come onnnnnnn," Idina whined, leaning closer to Augustus and poking his nose. "Tell meeee!"
Augustus just shook his head.
Idina looked at him closely. From the faint light of the moon and the shining ice, she could see his face for the first time since they met. He was cute. His face was round, and he had rosy cheeks with a button nose. His chocolate brown hair was sleeked back and his hazel eyes were almost memorizing. They seemed to hold so many memories, full of sadness and pain.
"Whatever, lets just play," Idina said, hoping that playing pretend would make the sadness in his eyes go away. She wondered how they looked when he was happy.
"Okay!" Augustus replied, happy to change the subject. "Look Idi- I mean, Queen Elizabeth," he grinned, "There is a pirate ship heading our way!"
Idina looked through her fake telescope again and gasped. "You're right, King Tobias! We need to get the cannons ready!"
Augustus saluted her and prepared for attack. "Pow! Pow! Pow!" he yelled as he made various noises of the pirate ship exploding. Idina patted his back. "You got them good, my King!" But then she gasped, again. "There's MORE!" She cried.
All night long the two children of different royalty played together under the moonlight, letting their imagination run wild in a tiny row-boat.
