Chapter 24- A Day Out With María

I left María in Vilu's room and went to get dressed. German entered and came up to me.

"What would my gorgeous wife to be like to do today?" he asked me.

"I kind of have plans with someone." I replied "Sorry."

"Oh, because María really wanted to spend the day with us." he said with a sad look on his face.

"Wait, María?"

"Yeah, I know it sounds crazy, but I was seeing her today in Vilu's room."

"Well, not that crazy, let's just say that she is who I have plans with."

Violetta opened the door and came into our room, sounding really concerned.

"Dad, Angie, I am really freaking out, I was talking to mum earlier and it was like she was in the room, then we sang together. I think I am going crazy. I mean it is the anniversary of her death, but seeing her is just weird, right?"

"Well.." I replied to her

"Angie and I are seeing her too." German finished off.

"What, no way! We can have a real family outing! Where shall we go?"

"May I suggest something?"

"Mum!"

"María!"

"How about we go to the Studio?"

"School??" Vilu sighed.

"I want to see everyone again. Then maybe we could go and visit mum, and then go out for ice cream, and then go to the theatre and we could all sing and... I'm just so happy to be with you all again!"

"Hey, sis, slow down! Because after singing, we could go and get caramel apples.."

"Yeh, then we could go and I could introduce you to Leon, my boyfriend and..."

"Girls, slow down!" German said "Let's go and have breakfast, and what are we doing first, Studio, let's go!"

We all had breakfast and left for the Studio. As we were the only ones who could see María, I was not surprised when we got a few strange glances when we were walking down the street talking to María Saramego, a dead singer. When we got to the Studio we walked into the hall and all suddenly burst out laughing. Everyone looked at us as if we were mad, but we didn't care. But when Vilu, Cami and Fran ran off together, and German followed, I was left alone with María. I walked into the Teacher's Lounge as I was talking to María.

"So Angie, how much have you missed me?"

"Oh, with all my heart María."

Just as I said the end of my sentence, Pablo walked into the room.

"María?" he asked.

"Yes"

As we were waiting for his response he asked me again, but this time more clearly.

"You see María?"

"Um.... Do you think that is crazy?"

"Well, it depends....."

"Well I don't think it's crazy." María said.

"Of course you don't!" I replied to her.

"You do see María! And you are crazy! Being with German has made you feel guilty, so you are seeing María."

"I will have you know that she is fine with me and German! She congratulated us on our engagement and our babies."

"You just won't stop rubbing that in my face will you! You know I love you, so what do you do? You go and have sex with your sister's husband, get pregnant with triplets and then expect me to be supportive."

"Pablo, after what I heard you say the other night, I was going to apologize, but now forget it, you don't support me, you are meant to be my best friend, but instead you are telling me what I am dong is wrong! I was going to try and make more time for you, because I wanted our friendship to last, but clearly you don't so forget it!"

With that, I ran out crying with María, who had her arm wrapped around me.

"I am so glad you are here for me sis."

"And I always will be"

German came up to María and I sat on the bench outside the Studio, me crying my eyes out and María comforting me.

"What happened in there? I heard shouting so I went in, and when I was in there Pablo said to me that you had gone mental, had a meltdown and then ran out crying."

I looked at María and she got what I was trying to say.

"Well...."
