Two days since their first date and since then Rory has made it his priority to always check on Zoe. Last night they spoke until the early morning and tonight he wanted to have an outing with her again. His only instruction was to wear something nice and warm.

She settled for an elastic waist great jogger pant and a soft short sleeved cotton shirt with her comfort fit sneakers. She even made some unsweetened coffee for him in the thermos and brought some marshmallows.

He texted her that he was outside her door. She took her marshmallows and the thermos with her before opening the door to welcome him in but he politely declined.

"Let's go" she followed behind him waiting till he opened the door pressing a  soft kiss to her cheek closing the door shortly after.

"Where're we off to?" Her head turned to him as he got in bucking his seatbelt and starting the car.

"First we'll go to a drive in theatre, then the underground aquarium and after I'd like to give you a long passionate kiss goodbye as you lay in my arms quite content with our pace" she couldn't help the blush coating her cheeks or the warm clenching in her stomach.

"I'd like that very much" he took her hand in his planting a kiss on the back fluidly reversing.

The soft hum of music left them in comfort. Zoe's eyes trained on the blurring trees her eyes betraying her as they repeatedly blinked slowly until she finally decided to keep them closed.

She felt a gentle nudge on her shoulders before she was moved to the back seat hearing the engine purring as the top cover of the car was slowly retracting.

The rustling of plastic had her eyes fluttering open as she saw Rory with a container of caramel sherbet, licorice , popcorn, chocolate bars with chili dogs, water and a box of tissues.

Could he ever go wrong on her idea of a perfect date. She didn't really favor being in the public's eye all the same but people had already learned of her involvement with Rory from a younger time. Whether they deemed it romantic she always saw it as platonic.

"Why the box of tissues?" She said groggily, rubbing the sleep away from her eyes.

"You my darling are about to cry like when rose left jack to drown even though and I quote 'that hussy had more than enough space' " he couldn't help the chuckle that passed when he recalled how conflicted Zoe looked after watching the movie. She couldn't decide whether she was supposed to be sad or angry so she took out the ladder on him.

Raising her arms in surrender she scooted over for him to recline the front seats. She rested her feet under the warm seats , keeping the snacks on her lap and the ice cream in the drink compartment.

Thirty minutes into the movie she couldn't help but snuggle into Rory's chest reviling in the heat of his body. His hands wrapped around her tightly when she started to cry seeing Augustus being rushed away into an ambulance.

Her waist increased when the scene switched over to the funeral scene. He couldn't say that the whole story didn't leave a feeling of sorrow bubbling in his chest. What hazel and Augustus had was pure and he hoped that he and Zoe could develop the same in their lives together.

They still sat still even after the movie. Zoe was wailing, her nose stuffed and her breathing a bit slow. All the popcorn was gone either from Rory eating it or Zoe throwing it at Augustus' coffin.

"Darling you do realize that it was a movie right. This was my way of showing you that even when I'm away my love for you will still be there it doesn't matter what happens to us- I'll still be there for you.Now stop those tears, the night's  still young" he looked deeply into her eyes brushing away her tears with the pads of his thumb.
