I look up at the sky contemplating my options. One I could just ask Troy what Ryan is, but that would most likely end in conflict. Two I could have Ryan ask Troy, but I think Troy would play dumb.  Or three I could let all of this play out, and figure it all out on my own. I shake my head and grab my bags and rip open the rift and place them inside and grab my sword.

I turn to Ryan to see him watching me intently. "What is it?" I say looking at him.

"You're bleeding." I nod my head and look at my bandages and see that the blood has soaked through.

"Yes I am I have been since the Hounds." I say as we walk out of the cave and head north the clouds following behind us.

"How have you not passed out?" He asks in utter shock.

"Magic, it's the only reason I'm standing and walking. If I had to use my magic to fight again I would pass out and most likely not wake up for a long time or maybe even die. I'm willing my body to stand saying spell after spell for strength but that only lasts so long. " I say trudging forward.

"If you have magic why can't you heal yourself." I look up to Troy ahead of us and think about the best way to explain this difficult question.

"I am limited to magic in all but one category... Combat. I am a combat witch; however, after many many years of practice I can do magic of other sorts. With the exception of healing magic." I state as I assess our surroundings. We had agreed that the safest thing to do was to follow the river up stream because it went North, and because we would have a constant water supply. What they didn't know is that going North up this stream would lead us to a former teacher of mine, she would help us to get to the compass and to help heal me.

"How can you not have healing magic?" I looked at him and in that split second I wasn't looking at the ground I tripped. And just as I was expecting to hit the ground I stopped. I opened my eyes to see myself hovering inches above the ground then I dropped. Ryan rushed to me and helped me up. Again our heart beats syncing due to the contact. This time I felt a burning sensation on my forearm before I pulled away.

"What happened why did you stop inches before the ground?" Ryan asked panicked.

Troy looked at the two of us then at my arm that thankfully was covered and he states. "She just used the last of her magic."

"What does that mean? I look at Ryan's panicked face and determine the truth is the best answer. I felt the last of my magic slip away and my body become extremely fatigued as I go limp against his body. He lifts me up and searched my face for an answer.

"It's means that if I don't get help within the next four hours I will die." I said I looked to Troy and say "Up this river for about 2 and a half hours walking speed is a clearing to the right it holds a cabin inside is a person that can help us." I say before passing out.

I look around for Ryan and Troy being unable to find them. I become panicked and I frantically shout their names. I whip my head  to the right when I hear a branch snap. I face towards it and find that I am facing none other than a werewolf. I try to summon my blade to me through the rift but am unable to.

"You won't be able to get it your magic has run out." The wolf says looking at me with its blue eyes. Eyes that I'd swear I've seen before.

"Where are Ryan and Troy?" I say frantic.

"Oh so now you care for them daughter of Blake? Now after you abandoned them because you couldn't complete your mission, or was it because you are afraid of what is to come, afraid of the mark appearing on your arm?" He says inching towards me. "You should be afraid, because I am coming for them, and for you." He says showing his yellowing fangs with the intent to kill. Then he lunges.
