I wake up to the coms in my room blasting my title. "Alpha one this is command over." I slowly roll out of bed hitting the projection device on the inside of my arm.
"Command this is Alpha one, how can I be of service?" I say basically sleep walking to the makeshift closet in the rundown hotel room I live in. I grab my gear slipping on my jumpsuit and strapping on my holster and my sword to my side.
"Alpha one we have an asset that needs to be brought in." I roll my eyes of course they do. Probably just another punk that thinks that they can "rule the world" with the gifts they just received.
"Location." I say slipping on my cloak. I walk into the rundown and beat up bathroom staring at the graffiti on the mirror in a multitude of languages most of which I can translate. I sweep my long black hair up into a braid and pinning it into a bun. I trace the tattoo on the side of my face willing it to become active as it shimmers blue, changing my natural green eyes blue.
"Earth, Seattle WA, Queen Anne, Washington High School target- eighteen year old Ryan and Troy his protector. Your mission enroll in the high school get close to both of them and bring them back to Headquarters." I stop for a second, 'Why the hell does a kid from earth have a protector? There's not much magic there.'
"Time allowed to complete mission?" I ask finishing lacing up my boots. Something bothering me about this one.
"As much as you deem necessary. Has Alpha one accepted this mission?"
"Mission accepted command, Alpha one out." I cut the coms. "Earth of all the places and all the realms I had to go back to Earth." I mumble. I grab all of my things and shove them in my duffel bag; and mentally prepare myself for the trip to 'The Mirror'. I close my eyes and gently flex my fingers and when I open my eyes i'm standing in front of 'The Mirror.'
I stand directly in front of it and see all the realms and their parallel universes. I visualize Earth and my target. Washington High School. I step through The Mirror and land in an alley on the west side the school about a quarter of a mile down the street. I turn to the wall closest to me and throw up. "God I hate The Mirror." I mumble as I rinse my mouth out with water from my duffel bag and pop a mint in my mouth. I walk down the street and head to an ATM where I use my magic to draw a couple hundred from the machine I quickly stuff it into my duffelbag trying my hardest not to gain suspicion.
I walk down the street getting closer and closer to the school until I come across a hotel and walk in. I walk up to the receptionist disguising my tattoo on the way. "Hello how much for one week here." I say lacing my voice with magic willing her to give me a room.
"Hello that would be....." She stops for a moment as the magic begins to affects her. She shakes her head and hands me a room key. "Here's your key, have a great stay." I smile.
"Thank you, have a great day." I step in the elevator and head to the tenth floor to my room feeling slightly bad for doing that but honestly it's not like a billion dollar company like this one needs the money. I walk in and drop my bag on the bed as I look round the room, a double sized bed and nice sized window, bathroom, and walk in closet, desk, and TV.
I sit on the bed and pull my tablet out and open the file headquarters sent me on the kid. I put a projection of him up. Tall for a human 6'5". I read on to see what type of sports he does, track and field and football, "Crap." I mumble as I read that he's into weight lifting. I read on to find he's an introvert, "Great the quiet type." I read on about his backstory and his life before he got his magic and what he's been doing after, however I read on to find that he currently is not aware of his magic. I roll my eyes and think that can end very badly.
