Allie woke in a cold sweat, screams escaping her lips before she could even comprehend what she was afraid of.  Strong arms had locked around her chest and cemented her arms to her side.

"Shh, shh, darling I'm here,"  Jasper whispered reassuringly as he rubbed circles into her back.  She had been unraveling for months, ever since she got home.  Aro was dead and the Volturi had fallen yet the images still haunted her every time she closed her eyes.

Jasper stood, turning on one of his old records that he bought when it truly came out.  Allie tended to enjoy classical music to loud modern music and when Jasper put the records in it usually calmed her enough to get back to sleep.

This time Allie stood, walking over to the man and leaning into his chest.  "Dance with me."  She muttered quietly, moving her arms up to around his neck.  They swayed gently to the music, a true feeling of peace settling in the room.

"I love you, Jaz.  I love you so much.  And I'm sorry.  You don't deserve the hell I'm putting you through with my problematic bullshit."  Allie whispered but the man heard her clear as day.

"Darling, I love you so dearly, more than you could ever know and you never have to apologize to me.  What you went through was horrendous and you didn't deserve that.  You're having problems, things like that are traumatic and what you're going through is completely understandable.  I love you.  I want you to know that you can always come to me no matter what."  Jasper said, pulling her closer.

The music filled the room and enveloped the pair as they swayed in time to the flowing notes.  "I was thinking,"  Jasper said quietly.

"That's dangerous, my love."  Allie hummed absently.  "What were you thinking about?"

"Getting married,"  Jasper confessed, making Allie smile.

"Oh really?  To who?"  She asked in amusement as Jasper pulled away and fell to one knee, pulling out a velvet box and snapping it open.

The ring was a rose gold band dotted with small diamonds and in the middle was a large opal stone also surrounded by diamonds.

"Aeldra Charlotte Hawthorne, will you marry me?"  He asked and Allie snorted.

"Hmm, I'm not sure, let me think about it,"  Allie said in amusement that hadn't peaked through the cracks in a long time.  Allie pulled him into a long kiss.  "Of course I'll marry you."

Alice burst in, Bree on her heels like they were deliberately outside waiting for Allie to say yes.  "We need to set a date.  What colors were you thinking?"

"Congratulations!"  Bree called excitedly, bouncing on the heels of her feet.

"Not until after Sam and Emily get married,"  Allie answered, her head resting on her new fiancé's chest.  "Thank you, Bree."

"Well, when are they getting married?"  Alice asked impatiently.

"Soon, Alice.  Don't fret."  Allie said with an amused smile.

"We'll give you two some privacy."  The spikey haired vampire ducked out of the room, lacing her fingers with Bree's and Allie glanced up at her fiance.

"Your sister is insane."  She commented with a smirk as Alice scoffed.

"Believe me, I know."

Allie grabbed Renesmee's hand, holding it lightly.  "What are you in the mood for today, Bambi?"

"Can we go to the diner?"  She asked eagerly, her brown eyes wide and excited.  "Can Jacob come?"

"How about we invite all the Quileutes and have dinner together?  We can go window shopping and I'll buy you three things."  Allie bribed and Renesmee beamed at her aunt.

"Yeah!  Thank you, Auntie Allie!"  Cried the young hybrid.  "Can I call?"

"Of course, Bambi."  Allie pulled out her phone and dialed Jacob's number, handing it to the child.

Renesmee chattered to her imprint, grinning brightly as she talked and they walked through the streets of Seatle, peering into the shops until Renesmee spotted something she wanted.  Three things quickly turned into six and soon Renesmee was shopping for both of them, grabbing things she decided would look pretty on Allie as well.

The thing she liked most was a thin silver necklace with a small doe with roses holding it to the chain.  When she presented it proudly to Allie, she showered her a second necklace with a panther's head and the eyes were made from emeralds.

"See, you get that one and I get this one."  Renesmee explained, handing Allie the necklace with the doe.  "That way we'll always be close."  She said proudly and Allie felt her heart melt.

"This is the last thing we're buying,"  Allie warned as she headed up to pay.

"You know they say panthers symbolize courage and protectiveness."  The cashier noted as Allie skimmed through her wallet in search of her credit card.  "I don't think that's quite true.  I think they symbolize weakness and selfishness.  But what do I know, right?"

Allie's eyes snapped up and she eyed the man.  His eyes were bright blue but there was something underneath.  "I'm sorry, do I know you?"  She asked, wrapping a protective arm around Renesmee.

"I guess you wouldn't.  But I know you."  His Italian accent was thick and suddenly his blue eyes melted away, contacts burned away by venom to reveal the crimson eyes of a newborn.

"Hey, Bambi, how about you take our stuff and go to the park and call Jake, hmm?"  Allie suggested, handing her phone to the child.

"The hybrid stays."  The newborn barked, locking the door and shutting the shades.  "If you didn't want her involved you should have never done this.  You allowed your lackeys to slaughter my family and curse me for eternity.  You let them kill our entire city.  You're a monster and you need to pay.  You need to suffer like I did.  Even your old family wants you dead. "

"This isn't about her.  This is about me.  I was held captive for two years.  Tortured every single day, I did what I had to do to bring down the Volturi and make sure they never hurt anyone again.  Their control over your city is broken."  Allie explained, shielding Renesmee with her own body.

"Don't you get it!"  The newborn screamed, spit flying from his lips.  "There's no one left for them to control!  You're not a hero!  You're not a god!  You're a fucking villain!"
