the inconsistency of mortals

Allie's cell door swung open violently and she was surprised to see that it wasn't Demetri's sneering face, but instead, it was Heidi. She looked disgusted to be there, lips curled and her nose wrinkled as she glanced down at the shifter.
"Get up, let's go," Heidi said boredly. Allie made no move to stand so the gorgeous vampire rolled her eyes, snapping her fingers sharply. The guards hauled her to her feet, securing the shackles on her limbs and dragging her out. "Have some goddamn dignity."
"Have some goddamn humanity," Allie growled as they took her back to the room they shaved her head in.
This time she was not only faced with freezing water but floral soaps. She was cleaned and maintained before they dressed her in a black sweater and jeans.
"What the fuck is going on?" Allie demanded as they shackled her again and dragged her to the throne room.
"Take off her shackles," Aro ordered sharply and his orders were instantly followed.
"Not worried I won't rip your head off?" Allie sneered violently as she rubbed her sore wrists.
"Not at all." He said with a grin, beckoning someone closer. It soon became apparent who. A young girl with long onyx hair hanging down her back in braided pigtails. Her chubby cheeks held a nervous smile as she waved gingerly at all. "Because if you do anything I don't want you to, breathe the wrong way, things won't go too well for young Olivia." She couldn't have been any older than eight years old with a clean pale green dress with small white flowers. "You see, if you do as I say, the Volturi will be paying for Olivia's medical bills so she can get a lifesaving treatment. You see, the poor little girl has a tumor in her brain that will, very soon, be affecting her movement and in under a year, she'll be dead. If you try to run, disobey me, or hurt me today, I'll break her neck right in front of you and kill the Cullens." Aro explained giddily, a grin on his face.
"You're the devil." Allie breathed, her eyes set on the child as she giggled.
"Now, now, Aeldra. There'll be none of that." Aro scolded lightly as Olivia stepped forward, grinning.
"Hi, Miss A-el-dra." Olivia greeted happily, annunciating the woman's name carefully so she didn't mess it up. "Mr. Aro says you can help me because you're nice."
"Hi, sweetheart. You can call me Allie." The woman said, her voice slightly pained as she knelt near the kid.
"Okay, Allie." Olivia chirped brightly before turning abruptly to Aro. "Can we get ice cream?"
