"I am being safe" I say before taking a sip of my drink. "How did you know I was here?"

"Charlie called me."

"I'm glad you're here, but won't it be weird if Kate or anyone from school sees you?" I ask him and I can the wheels turning in his head

"Yeah. I guess it would"

"I will see you after practice tomorrow"

"Please be careful"
"I promise I will. I love you, Prof"
He smiles and shakes his head "I love you too." He turns and heads out of the apartment and I go back to the party. We spend the night drinking, dancing and just having a good time. I try not to get too crazy. Around 3am I walk out of the apartment building and hop into the Uber I called 10 minutes ago.

"Can you take me to the West Campus, please?" I ask yawning.

Fifteen minutes later, I hand the man a $20 and walk upstairs to my dorm

Mark POV

I get to the game just as they begin announcing the starting lineups. The stands are crowded but I find a spot 3 rows up. This game is insane. I have never seen a team work this well together. They are a completely transformed group.

I watch as the Women's team takes the win thus pushing them into the final four tournament. They huddle together, hugging each other. I walk down to the court to congratulate Walt on the big W. My eyes capture hers for a slight second and we both smile, The gym clears out and I head to my office to file some paperwork before heading home for the night.

I like the place Ness and I are in, but we could both use a night apart. I shoot her a text as I walk out to my car saying 'Congrats on the win. Doing anything fun tonight?'

She responds within a few minutes 'just a night out with the girls'

'Have fun. Love you'

'Love you too'

I order a pizza and throw on the comfiest sweats I have before planting myself on the couch for a night of television. Hours go by and my phone buzzes on the coffee table. The screen lights up with Charlie's name and a text that reads, "Your girl is ballsy"

I laugh a little "Yeah, I know."
"And her friend Kate is hot"
"Are you out with them right now?"
"Yeah, we are about to head back to my place. One of my roommates is throwing a party"
"Mind if I stop by?" I ask and he quickly responds

"Sounds good"

I change and drive 10 minutes to Charlie's apartment complex. Charlie may be 28 years old, but he still parties as if he was in college. The elevator lets me off at the 4th floor and his door is 6 down the hall. I can hear the music down the hall. Wow, his neighbors must be cool with this sort of stuff as it is a Wednesday night. His apartment is packed full of people but as soon as I take a step away from the door I lock eyes with her. I look at Ness and study her outfit. Damn, that girl is such a little minx. My eyes follow her curves before landing on the red solo cup in her hand. She shrugs and shoots me a smile and I can't help but smile slightly. My girl is easily the hottest here. She crosses the room to me.

"I thought you were going out with the girls tonight" I say as we keep a slight distance. 

"We are out" She responds and I smile shaking my head

"I thought you meant a quiet dinner"
"You obviously don't know college women" She replies before taking a sip of what i can only assume is some mixed drink.
"I have an idea" I say looking at her in that outfit again
