"Livvie...hurry up," my best friend Melani whined at twin sister. We had VIP tickets to the Pentatonix concert in LA and three majorly crushing girls. Livve has this thing for blondes and is totally in love with Scott Hoying, baritone. Mel is short and dark haired like her crush, Mitch Grassi, tenor. of course, they both love to trase me about my crush. they would say, "Jeez, Arya can sing anything and she chooses bass? I guess," and here they put a swoon in their voices, "Avi,-sigh- has gotten to her." so what if I liked a bass? He's cute, has the most beautiful, green eyes, and amazing range. besides, I like a guy who can sing lower than me, they're hard to find.

Once Livvie finishes her primping, we all get into Mel's Pontiac G6 and drove to the concert. We had to get there early. We arrive and hustle in, flashing our passes at the security guy. I turned a corner and WHAM! I walk into someone. I look up and see him, his royal hotness, bass god, Avi Kaplan, his shirt not quite buttoned yet.

"Oh my god. I'm so sorry. I didn't see you there, little distracted, I guess." he says, smiling down at me. Holy crap he's talking to me!

"Uhhh...ummm...it's fine. I wasn't looking where I was going. umm" I glance at his mostly bare chest, "your shirt isn't buttoned." he looks down and buttons a few more buttons.

"Avi, where'd you go man," Scott's 6'3" frame rushes around the corner. "oh, there you are. We need you to get your mic. Who's this?"

"Okay I will. Scott, this is...what's your name again?" Avi asks me.

"I'm Ayra. I'm a huge fan, guys. One thing though, Scott," I say with a smile.

"What's that?" Scott asks, also smiling.

"You call yourself a baritone? I'm technically an alto and I can sing lower than you." I snap. Scott looks affronted. Avi fights back a laugh.

"Well, yeah, I'm a baritone, little miss alto..." Scott snaps back.

"Hey, Arya. We've been looking everywhere for you." I turn and see Mel and Livvie standing behind me.

"Hi Scott," my sister half whispers, toying with a strand of her curly brown hair. I  barely hear her and am fairly sure Scott didn't.

"Who's this" he questions.

"This is my best friend Mel and my ttwin, Livvie." I point at each respectively.

"Okay, well you should come meet the others." Avi says, grinning at me. we all go to a big room where Kirstie, Kevin, and Mitch are lounging. Mel strides right up and says hi. the rest of us approach more slowly.

when I get to the small group, I hear "... have you dated any of these guys?" leave it to Mel to make a slightly awkward situation very awkward.

"Ummm, yeah. I dated Mitch for a while in high school. other than him, nope." she sounds embarrassed. Mitch sure looked it. We all talk about nothing in particular until the stage manager tells us that we have to go so Pentatonix can go on in five minutes.

"Come back after the show, we could hang out more" offered Avi.

The concert by in a blur that I snap out of only long enough for Starships and  Let's  Get It On. It's Scott's turn to pick the girl and Livvie gets pulled up. They tell her to go  around to get on stage but I remind her of her promise to our little brother. She does a perfect press-out onto the stage and walks shakily to the red chair that waits for her. When she's sitting, Scott kneels in front of her.

"What's your name?"

"Livvie." Her voice barely reached me and is shaking hard enough to get a six on the rhictor scale.

"Well, Livvie, can we sing to you?"

Livvie nods and chokes out a small "Yes". Scott stands up and Mitch starts the song. I keep my eyes fixed on Avi until Mel nudges me. Scott is sitting on Livvie's lap. Her arms encircle him. He gets up and joins the others; I resume my Avi-watching. He sits on her, too, and I swear I'm so jealous that I'm amazed I haven't exploded yet. when he gets up the whole group moves to the center of the stage and the song slows.

"Livvie, oh, Livvie baby. Let's get it on." Scott sings and turns to wink at her. They all move back to her. Scott kneels to her left, slipping his arm around her shoulder. Livvie leans in, resting her head on his shoulder until the end f the song. She stands and hugs each in turn then slides back into the audience.

Half an hour later the three of us troupe back to the stage door. Everyone is cooling off back there. not wanting to be too obvious, I trot over to Kevin. I tell him how amazing he did and how every time I hear him play, I regret giving up cello, and that some of the orchestra kids at the school I work at worship him like a god. Then I walk over to Avi, "Hey, I've heard you give great hugs, can I get one?"

He turns and hugs me. Avi whispers in my ear, "Your sister told me that you've had a crush on me for, what is it, three years now?"

great, now I have to kill Livvie. I specifically told her not to say anything but istil ii say, "yeah, I've like you for a while."

"I haven't stopped thinking about you since we bumped into each other. You're pretty and funny and obviously have great taste in music." Avi grins.

When Livvie, Mel and I have to leave, Avi sops me. He grabs my hand and writes his phone number on it and asks for mine. "Call me" he says in a really sexy way, waving goodnight.
