Unraveling

The masks fall off,

in one swift tie undone,

They flutter sharply to our feet,

with that one swift tie that has come undone.

Ugly faces don't lie underneath

because charm, smiles, and emotions are a sheath

that clad, pull and hide

whatever life inside, I'll never find fine otherwise.

Happy 2018! May this be a year fill with those heady rushes and bursts of happiness that make  understanding those descriptions of tasting like sunshine finally possible (Holding up the universe, anyone?)!

This post's title may or may not be inspired by the fact that I'm reading Unravel Me and my heart is hurting for Warner because he has resigned himself to so much but at the same to so little. Have you read this series? Are you excited for the upcoming books? Who is your favorite character and why?

Questions, questions and more questions... they sound awfully like those that I needed to answer in school about the books I was required to read.
