Chapter 12

"She's waking up." said a voice. I opened my eyes and found myself in a room that was white. I closed my eyes again to make it go away.

"You can open them now." Zayn said. I trusted him and opened them. I saw everyone taping construction paper on the wall. They were all amazing friends. They knew about my fear and they did that for me. I smiled and sat up.

"So how did I get here?" I whispered.

"Well Liam here caught you when you fell in the hall way." Zayn said.

"He carried you all the way to the nurses office and the nurse was not there." Harry said.

"So he panicked and.." Niall said.

"I called everyone else." Liam finished for Niall.

"Thank you." I said quietly. "So what happened to me?"

"Well I'm guessing you have a fever." Mika said.

"People do tend to get sick easily if they haven't been outside. The weather gets to them." Niall said very seriously.

"Anyway your ok for now. There is only a period left until school is done. We should all just go home and you will get some rest." Lea said.

"I can't go yet. I promised Sean that I would teach him." I said.

"I think that it's ok if you don't today. You can do it tomorrow." Zayn said. I smiled at him.

"But I promised and I don't break promises." I said.

"Well..." Zayn trailed off waiting for someone to fill in.

"If she wants to go, let her go. She probably has feelings for him." said a voice in the corner. I turned around and saw Claire standing there with a smile.

"You do?" Zayn asked.

"Yeah she does. Did you not see her talking to him? Tutoring is an excuse." she said walking out the door.

I nodded my head sideways. "Well I guess it's ok if we let you go." Zayn said.

"I won't. Like you guys said I need rest."

"Whatever you want." they said. I smiled and we walked to our lockers. I took all the books I needed and we walked towards the door. Zayn and Claire were chatting about something different while we talked about something different.

The bell rang and soon everyone else filed in the hallways. I noticed Sean walking up to me and I gave him a smile.

"Sorry I can't make it today. Can we do it tomorrow?" I asked.

"Sure anytime." he said with a wink. I caught up to the rest and found Louis there.

"So how did it go?" Lea asked as I sat next to her.

"Fine." I said.

"See Zayn, you always turn on the blinker, when you want to make a turn." Liam said who was sitting in the front. Claire had driven to her place so we were, thank god, not with her.

"I get it. I just forget sometimes." he grumbled.

"Wait until you get that ticket." Lea said.

"I won't." Zayn said.

"Did you guys forget the way he turns? Remember he goes on the sidewalk at times." she stated.

"I remember the time where we were driving to school and you almost ran over a lady." Harry said laughing.

"That's was completely by accident!" Zayn exclaimed.

"You guys still let him drive after that." I said laughing.

"Well Harry thought about giving him a second chance, so me being all nice and sweet I gave it to him today." Lea said.

"Nice and sweet. Whatever you say." Zayn said sarcastically. She smacked him. "She really is nice, right Mika, Destiny?" I looked at him.

"Of course she is!" I exclaimed.

"I have nothing to say in this." Mika said sinking into her seat even more.

"Can we stop at Nandos?" Niall asked. Everyone stopped arguing and looked at Niall.

"Nope." Liam said.

"Yes." Louis said.

"No Niall not today. You ate Nandos a couple of days ago. Today well have some pizza." Liam said.

"Louis tell him." Niall whined.

"Sorry lad, pizza sounds good to me." Louis said.

I stared at the ceiling. It was boring getting rest. I wanted to do something fun. I walked out of my room and saw Zayn on the couch sleeping. He sleeps a lot.

I went into the closet and took a blanket. I gently pulled it over him until I was interrupted.

"What are you doing?" I turned around and saw Claire by the doorway. She came in and walked up to me.

"I was just putting this blanket on him." I said.

"Well that's my job." she said grabbing the blanket from my hand and placing it roughly on Zayn. That was horrible.

"Sure your job. You weren't here when he needed it." I said going into my room. She followed me in.

"I really don't like you and don't you dare try to steal Zayn away from me. You better back off." I looked at her.

"Steal Zayn from you. Listen we're just good friends and nothing else. You need to calm yourself and I now want you to get out of my room." I said. She left and I waited until I no longer heard her voice or her footsteps.

I heard footsteps and turned around to find Zayn by my doorway. "We need to talk."

"So that's what she told you. I didn't even say anything like that and I just want you to know that she isn't all that nice and sweet if you see her other side." I said. His mouth fell open.

"Do you even know how nice Claire is?" he asked. "Have you seen her outside of school?"

"No, but in one days worth I know that she is mean to me, but this isn't about me, it's about you. I don't care about you and her, but I want you to know that she isn't nice to me when you aren't around. Ask anyone, they would say the same." I said. I began to walk away until someone grabbed my arm.

"Who do you think you are? Don't talk about Claire like that ever again." he said growing mad. I swallowed the lump in my throat.

"Destiny and don't worry. I won't. There's no point anyway." I said walking out of my room. Hot tears were coming out of my eyes. Why?

Was it because he didn't listen to me? I walked to Mika and Lea's room. On my arrival I was hugged by Lea. Mika was the first one to see my crying face.

"Why are you crying?" she asked. Lea then took a look at my face and she made me sit down on her bed.
