Chapter 1 - Back Together Again

A/N

First chapter of the rewrite! I'm excited to start fresh with this hot mess of a story. Let it be known that the beginning will most definitely be a little slow, and most likely boring. In saying that however, I do encourage that you read everything in this book. A lot has changed (well maybe) and I think it would be best to read this story from the beginning. Some plot points and characters have changed so be aware when deciding how you want to read this. Again, I implore you to read every chapter. That's it for right this minute. Peace.

Pikachu's P.O.V.

The alarm clock next to Ash's bed went off, waking me up. I yawn as I roll over sleepily only to find Ash isn't in his bed. Reluctantly, I jump off of Ash's bed and make my way to the kitchen. Ash is in the kitchen talking on the phone. I jump up on the table, curious as to who he's talking to and what he's talking about. He puts down the phone and turns to me, a smile on his face. "Oh hey buddy." He chirps. I smile and tilt my head, wanting to know what he was talking about.

"Curious, huh? Well, I've organized to meet up with everyone- well nearly everyone-tomorrow. Brock, Misty, Serena and Dawn said they could make it but no such luck with some of the others. Won't it be great to see everyone again Pikachu?"

I smile and nod. Now that I think about it, it's been forever since I last saw everybody. How is everyone doing? It's been years since we've seen anyone really. Ash stopped travelling, devoting all his time and focus on training. He's planning on challenging Cynthia for the spot of Champion, though I'm pretty sure he's already the champion of several regions seeing as he's defeated various region champions but oh well. It'll be great to see everyone again. With high hopes for the next couple of days, I go make my way to the battle field outside for our morning training.

Time skip to the next day cause talkin' about training and stuff is boring af

We arrive at Dawn's place and are the first ones there. Ash rings the door bell and Dawn answers the door almost immediately. Welcoming us inside, I jump off of Ash's shoulder and make my way outside to where all of my past travelling buddies are (Travelling buddies for Pikachu meaning Dawn's Pokémon). Almost whole gang is here; Piplup; Mamoswine; Pachirisu; The only one I don't see is... And there she was. Buneary. She was leaning against a tree, seemingly sleeping. The sight of her caused a weird feeling in my chest. It felt like my heart had skipped a bit. My chest hurt and my face felt hot. I didn't understand whatever I was feeling, but I tried to ignore it as I went and talked to everyone.

It was great to see everyone again. I had a long chat with Piplup and the others before it came time to talk to Buneary. I walked up to Buneary quietly, not wanting to scare her. I gently nudged her shoulder. Slowly, her eyes started to open and I started to feel strange again as they did. She looked at me for a moment before her face lit up and she pulled me into a warm embrace. I laughed lightly, "It's good to see you too Buneary." She let me go with a big smile on her face. "I haven't seen you since forever Pikachu!" She beamed, clearly having trouble controlling her excitement. I smile at her and look around. "I don't see Quillava or Togekiss," I query, continuing to search the area, "Where are they?" Buneary looks towards the others. "Well," Buneary began, "Dawn has two new partners and she can't have more than six of us here at a time so they're at Prof. Oak's lab at the moment." That's... Well, nothing I can do about it.

"Who are these two new-" Before I can finish my sentence, two rabbit ears come out from behind Buneary and cover her eyes. "Bunellby!" Buneary giggles as the Pokémon's ears move from her eyes. I look behind Buneary and see a Bunellby smiling behind her. He must be one of Dawn's new partners, but I still don't see the other one. Bunellby walks around from behind Buneary and gives her hug. Buneary smiles and hugs him back before she looks to remember something and pulls back. "Pikachu," she smiles gleefully, "This is Bunellby. He's my partner!" I raise an eyebrow. "Partner?" I ask confused. "I don't get what you're saying. Is he like your partner for contests?" Buneary laughs, making me feel strange again. "You silly mouse, Bunellby's my partner as in my boyfriend." Those words hit me hard. I didn't show it but my heart ached as she said that sentence. Why am I feeling this way? She told me she has a boyfriend. I should feel happy, but instead I feel...

I smile and them before twitching my ears. I rub the back of my neck and make a nervous smile. "I think that's Ash calling for me. Sorry guys. It was nice to meet you Bunellby and Congratulations to you both. See ya!" I jolt off, B-lining for the house. This feeling... What is it...?

Alrighty! So this has been chapter one. It's definitely a little slow, but I want character introduction not to be rushed. I don't have anymore time on my hands as of the moment to add anything else to this chapter, so chapter two may also be character introduction and development. I'm sorry! I really want the main story to be good and to do that you need to know the characters. I'm sorry again but hopefully you can forgive my sorry butt. Anyways, that's all from me.
